Almost half of tested samples of commercial high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) contained mercury, which was also found in nearly a third of 55 popular brand-name food and beverage products where HFCS is the first- or second-highest labeled ingredient, according to two new U.S. studies.

HFCS has replaced sugar as the sweetener in many beverages and foods such as breads, cereals, breakfast bars, lunch meats, yogurts, soups and condiments. On average, Americans consume about 12 teaspoons per day of HFCS, but teens and other high consumers can take in 80% more HFCS than average.

"Mercury is toxic in all its forms. Given how much high-fructose
corn syrup is consumed by children, it could be a significant
additional source of mercury never before considered. We are calling for immediate changes by industry and the [U.S. Food and Drug Administration] to help stop this avoidable mercury contamination of the food supply," the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy's Dr. David Wallinga, a co-author of both studies, said in a prepared statement.

In the first study, published in current issue of Environmental
Health, researchers found detectable levels of mercury in nine of 20 samples of commercial HFCS.

And in the second study, the Institute for Agriculture and Trade
Policy (IATP), a non-profit watchdog group, found that nearly one in three of 55 brand-name foods contained mercury. The chemical was found most commonly in HFCS-containing dairy products, dressings and condiments.

The Black Plague or The Black Death Is Still With Us Today

Where did we get the superstition that Garlic wards off Vampires?

Where did the superstition of Garlic warding off Vampires come from? We have all seen pictures of folks wearing garlands of garlic to ward off Vampires. People in Europe during the ravages of The Plague even smeared garlic on the windows, doors of their houses, on the gates to their farmyards, and even on the horns of their cattle. How did such a superstition get started?

Starting in the Crimea around 1400 bc, the Plague or Black Death devastated Europe. The total number of deaths worldwide is estimated at 75 million people, approximately 25–50 million of which occurred in Europe. The Black Death is estimated to have killed 30% to 60% of Europe's total population. It may have reduced the world's population from an estimated 450 million to between 350 and 375 million in 1400. The plague is thought to have returned every generation with varying virulence and mortalities until the 1700s. During this period, more than 100 plague epidemics swept across Europe. On its return in 1603, the plague killed 38,000 Londoners.

Superstitious peoples of the 15th and 16th centuries thought that the Plague was spread by Vampires. Today the Plague is generally considered to be caused by the bacterium, Yersinia Pestis. However, according to Dr. Robert O. Young, chief of research at the pH Miracle Center in San Diego, CA, the Plague like all "infectious" dis-eases is actually the result an over acidic condition in the body, which give rise to bacterium, not vise-versa.

Back to the European Pandemic of The Plague. People noticed that the early Garlic Merchants did not get the Plague. Since the Plague was thought to be transmitted by Vampires, naturally Garlic must ward off Vampires. People took to wearing garlands of garlic, and smearing it on everything.

What was actually happening is much more interesting. Garlic Merchants were poor. They ate a lot of their own Garlic. Garlic is now known to be a powerful, natural antibiotic, anti-acid and was "killing" or "buffering" off the Plague or the excess dietary and/or metabolic acids in the Garlic Merchants.

Metabolic and Dietary acidic Fats build up in the body and are stored in the body fat. Cucumbers and Avocados, together with an Alkalarian Lifestyle, neutralizes excess acid in the body and prevents acid accumulations and deposits in the fatty tissues. Excess Acidic Body Fat is the Plague of our generation, and proper alkaline food intake is the answer to the dis-ease of Acidic Fat, just like Garlic was the answer to avoiding the acids that caused The Plague.

For the past three and a half years, I have been faithfully and enthusiastically reading your daily messages concerning your pH Miracle Diet and New Biology. I must confess, that I have been slyly staying on your Doctor 's list, despite the fact that I am a Ph.D. and not a medical doctor.

I first came to your work through your pH Miracle for Weight Loss book after years of uncontrollable weight gain, despite moderate eating habits and regular exercise. It has taken 3 1/2 years for my body to adapt to the alkaline diet and lifestyle because of how sick the toxic overload made me whenever I tried to introduce something new to increase the detoxing/alkalizing process.

Gradually I have persevered, purchasing and introducing more of your products and equipment as I have been able to handle and afford them. Last March, with pH levels still in the 5-6 (and occasionally 4.5) range and a weight of 215 lbs and rising (despite the 9-12 litres of structured green powder/sprouts/clay water I was drinking), I finally embarked on the three week fast, which I found extremely weakening and difficult, but stayed on it for the full 21 days. I continued the regular diet for the recommended 3 month period, losing a remarkable 20 lbs!

However, my pH levels were still only i n the 6-6.5 range. Since then, I have not once veered from the diet, although my rebounding exercise stopped in June when the left side of my pelvis slipped lifting a picnic table, an extremely traumatic event. I had hoped over Christmas that I would be able to write you a wonderfully positive testimonial replete with my own alkaline recipes to add to Shelly's wonderful collection, but though it is already an amazing success story, I am afraid that since September I have been undergoing a major alarming setback.

I had my first mammogram at the age of 51 last September, already 5 months into the diet. They detected a small lump in my left breast, which finally in December was diagnosed as breast cancer. From the biopsy, it was thought to be a moderately aggressive type with a tendency to spread. On December 17, I had the 1 cm lump and 15 lymph nodes surgically removed (they did not detect any radioactive dye in the sentinel nodes and so had to delve further in). You might be interested in knowing that I insisted to all my doctors and anaesthesiologist (who turned out to be the most open-minded) on drinking my structured waters right up until 2 hours before the surgery, and in recovery was greeted by a visibly amazed surgeon exclaiming how wonderfully I had made it through 3 hours of surgery and how steady all my vital signs had been. Furthermore, daily visits by daycare nurses were invariably accompanied by amazed comments as to how quickly and beautifully my scars were healing. One nurse said she had never seen the likes in all her years of nursing! They already look like I've had them for years. In addition, while I still had the drain, I was testing the pH levels of the inflammatory/lymphatic fluids that were draining out of my arm, which were consistently 7.25. Nevertheless, when I tell doctors and nurses that all these successes are due to the pH Miracle Diet, it invariably draws a blank, and I am reminded that we're back in the dark ages and this is definitely not Europe or California.

Xmas Eve I got a call from my surgeon saying that the lump and all surrounding cancer cells had been successfully removed and there was no sign of spreading in any of the lymph nodes.

Feeling this was cause for celebration, I allowed myself one glass of champaigne, preceded and followed by mineral salts.

Much relieved all through Xmas and New Year's, I resolved in the New Year finally to get both my urine and saliva pH levels up into the 8-8.5 range, go through with the month of daily radiation treatments and then refuse the usual recommended chemotherapy, thus putting the cancer behind me. That is, until last Tuesday, when during my first visit to the oncologist, I was given unexpected news.

This is how he presented my case to me and why I am writing you today:

Although there are many positives (outlined above: small tumour size, clean lumpectomy, negative lymph nodes, excellent health (only, I might add, as long as I continue the pH diet regime), there are some negatives which lead him strongly to recommend 18 weeks of intravenous chemotherapy:

The pathology report reveals the type of cancer to be grade 3 (highest, most aggressively and abnormally developing cancer cells). Just as shocking for me was his supposition that given its rapid cellular growth rate, the tumour has probably only been around for the past half year, which means that it developed during or just after the 3 month fast and diet when I was already hyperalkalizing.

Q: I wonder if you have any theories as to why this might be? And why you think I was unable to get rid of the tumour, despite the introduction of minerals salts throughout the fall?

Dr. Young: All cancer cells are cells that have been spoiled by dietary and/or metabolic acid. The body will form tumors as a way to protect healthy tissue. Therefore the cells are not the cancer nor is the tumor. The cancer is the acids from lifestyle and diet that were not properly removed through urination, perspiration, respiration and defecation. The key to cancer prevention and reversal is increasing and maintaining the fluid pH over 8.4 or higher. As far as how old your tumors are your Doctor is just guessing. The body forms tumors as the last resort and not the first resort to protect healthy tissue. The body uses fat to park excess acids. This is why you have been over-weight for so many years. Within the fatty tissues there can be many tumor formations. One of the places that the body uses to park excess acid is in the breast tissue which is a fatty tissue.

Q: Other negatives are that I am 51 years old, perimenopausal, and the cancer is triple negative (hormone insensitive). The way the young, fairly open-minded oncologist presented it to me is that most women in exactly my same situation will only have 50% of the cancer cells removed with the surgery, and another 20% with the local breast radiation treatments. This leaves a 30% likelihood that microscopic cancer cells will already have spread to other parts of the body, despite their absence in the lymph nodes.

Dr. Young: Cancer cells do not spread. Acid spreads throughout the body. Keep your fluid pH over 8.4 with the pHour salts and stay the alkaline course.

Q: In my case, is such spreading likely or possible? How else other than through the lymph nodes are cancer cells spread?

Dr. Young: Cancer is not a cell it is a dietary and/or metabolic acid that flows through your body fluids. In other words, cancer is a liquid not a cell. Keep alkalizing and building healthy blood with an alkaline lifestyle and diet.

Q: He says 85% is what they call a cure (?!) and that leaves another 15% that need to be treated with the chemo. In other words, if I refuse the chemotherapy, he argues, I am putting myself at a 15-30% risk of developing secondary breast cancer within the next 5 years, at which point it will be difficult or impossible to detect and/or treat. He says that doing the chemo (in my case, even before the radiation treatments, starting within the next few weeks!) is my one and only chance to be cured!

Dr. Young: Chemo is just more acid. Using chemo would be like throwing kerosene on an already raging fire. You buffer or neutralize the acids that spoil body cells making them cancerous with alkaline mineral salts of sodium, magnesium, potassium and calcium. The must be a the form of a bicarbonate or carbonate.

Q. So, I am in a bit of a conundrum. It is a compellingly ambiguous argument, to be sure, even for someone like myself who has always claimed that she would rather die than do chemo!

Dr. Young: Statistics show that 98% do die with the current medical protocol.

Q. Ironically, this seems to have become a self-fulfilling prophesy and I am beside myself as to know what to do. I would like to proceed as I had previously intended, more aggressively upping the ante on the pH Miracle regime by reintroducing daily juicing, eating more soups and even more cruciferous vegetables (I already eat once a day), investing in a Vibratrim, finding someone who does lymphatic massage and drainage, taking infrared saunas, and most importantly, doubling my bicarbonate intake from 3 half litres to 3 litres. (Every time I take more than 3 1/2 litres, I experience alarming efffects such as tingling and numbness in my right arm, nausea, vomitting, dehydration and stomach pain. I keep thinking it might because I am only 5 feet tall and just can't tolerate any more, but have resolved to persevere.

Dr. Young: Now you are addressing how to remove the acids out of your body that are the true cause of a cancerous condition. Remember, cancer is NOT a disease it is a condition of over-acidity and the body perfectly trying to prevent healthy tissue breakdown. Increase your green drinks to 5 to 6 liters a day, exercise for 1 hour, keep your bowels moving with magnesium and colonics and keep your urine pH over 8.4. This is how you buffer the acids that cause any cancerous condition.

Q: Do you have any tips you could pass on concerning my bicarbonate intake? Is it possible to overdose on it? One naturopathic doctor also recommends intravenous Vitamin C and oxygenation to hyper-boost the immune system. I have read your article on Vitamin C (wrote you about it concerning my so-called "irritable bowel syndrome" and dependence on Ester C supplemention) and wonder what you think of these naturopathic treatments.

Dr. Young: I would suggest taking the bicarbonate of mineral salts first thing in the morning and last thing at night. You should also take the bicarbonate of salts whenever the urine pH is below 8. I do not recommend taking Vitamin C because it is a strong acid and will have a negative affect on the alkaline pH of the body fluids.

Q: Since I began the waters and green powders 3 years ago, I simply cannot get enough of them. This has affected my sleeping patterns because although I sleep like a baby, I automatically wake up 1-4 times a night when my body signals that it absolutely needs more water. After I drink a half litre, I usually fall instantly back to sleep, but would dearly love to find a way to sleep through the night. Do you have any suggestions?

Dr. Young: Drink your greens like a King in the morning, a Queen in the afternoon and a peasant in the evening. You should try an finish the greater part of your hydration in the morning and early afternoon. In other words, drink 5 to 6 liters of greens before 3 pm in the afternoon.

Q: Another unrelated question: My shiatsupractor warns that shiatsu might induce spreading of cancer cells through the circulatory and lymphatic systems. On the other hand, I suspect that I have poor circulation and respond amazingly well to the whole body treatments. And my husband's friend, a Korean naturopathic doctor, argues this for the different reason that any kind of massage diverts the body's energies away from the cancerous areas that it is focussing on. Do you think either of these claims is true?

Dr. Young: Circulation of blood and lymph is critical in removing dietary and/or metabolic acids that cause any cancerous condition. Any exercise that improves circulation will also help to remove acids that in turn will help to prevent and/or reverse any cancerous conditions. Remember cancer is NOT caused by a cell but is caused by a toxic acidic liquid from diet and/or metabolism.

Q: My previous convictions are now fraught with the uncertainty that if my body has not been able to fight off the tumour so far, it might not be able to fight off other similarly aggressive microscopic cancer cells lurking throughout my system. My husband, who was present at the oncologist's meeting, is absolutely convinced, after watching my transformation over the last 11 months, that continuation with the diet should not only be able to raise me into the 85 percentile, but rather cure my cancer 100%, a promise the oncologist has not been able make with his so-called "cure." And I don't doubt that this might be true. But I know my body, and am just not sure it has been alkalizing long and deeply enough to be able to ensure this kind of success. Whereas if I did the chemo, then I surely my body could fight the final 15 (as opposed to 30%).

Dr. Young: Current traditional medicine does not have a cure for cancer. They don't even understand what causes cancer let alone how to prevent or reverse cancer. Cancer is NOT a cell. Tumors are not cancerous they are encapsulations of acidic fermenting cells to protect healthy tissue. Cancer is a liquid acidic toxin from diet and/or metabolism.

Q: My 22-year-old son is supportive, but skeptical, since the bottom line for him is that he does not want to lose his mother. Other members of my family will surely be recommending the chemo and 2 naturopathic doctors have suggested doing both the chemo and the pH diet for optimal success and for cutting down on the negative short and long term effects of the chemo. Though if I do the chemo, both my husband, son and I have doubts as to whether my energy levels will be high enough to handle all I have to do to keep the diet going, and I worry that I will be unable to keep down all my waters, raw soups and vegies, as my digestive system is still very sensitive. After all I have done to become healthy again, this line of thinking saddens me to no end. And of course, the psychological impact of my decision, one way or the other, has to be considered in being able to successfully conquer cancer. Dris the pH Miracle Lifestyle and Diet. I would also suggest 2 to 3 ounces of healthy oils a day from flax seed and hemp seed. Remember the COWS plan. Q: I will be getting a second opinion from the radiologist at the Vancouver Cancer Agency next week, but am expecting more of the same. I can only imagine how many missives like this you receive each day and certainly am not expecting a response. On the other hand,

Dr. Young: The only tools that current medical doctors have in their bag for the prevention and/or treatment of a cancerous condition is: surgery, radiation and chemo of which none address the true cause of cancer - ACID!

Q: I have been extremely impressed with your willingness to respond to individual inquiries and testimonies, and would be most interested in hearing any fresh take you might have on my situation, even if you do not have time to respond to all of my questions.

Dr. Young: My mission in life is to change lives and save lives. I am happy to answer your questions and hope you and your family will embrace life through alkalizing.

Q: The bottom line is that the doctors are unable to offer me any other choice. It is either chemo or death, and the feeling that the latter will be self-imposed. I have fallen victim to a medical system that is simply not open to discussing alternatives. My oncologist was so flabbergasted at the notion of treating the nausea side effects of chemo with sodium bicarbonates that I never even would have been able to suggest it as a possible treatment for cancer, one that is having great, documented success in Europe. Having become part of that system, but with no one actually in the profession on my side, I have been rendered paralyzed and powerless, not the best emotional/spiritual state to be in when facing the difficult decision of how best to fight cancer.

Dr. Young: It is unfortunate but it is true - ignorance kills. When you use the mineral salts of bicarbonate they will buffer the acids of the stomach reversing any nausea. They will also prevent further spoiling of body cells from dietary and/or metabolic acids.

Q: Would a microscopy test be a way of detecting if there are still an overabundance of microscopic breast cancer cells in my system? Ignorance Caused Sepsis or Systemic Acidosis That Took The Life of a Young Brazilian Woman

Just last week a young beautiful Brazilian woman died from sepsis or systemic acidosis. This is not a unique nor isolated story. It is happening every day to hundreds of thousands of people around the world! In fact, Shelley and I came very close to losing one of our own children from septic or acidic shock due to antibiotic IV's.

Please share this information with everyone you know, love and care about. It will save and preserve their life!

Sepsis is the number one cause of death in the world and happens every day at Intensive Care Units, Hospitals and Medical Clinics!

What is sepsis or septic shock and what is the cause?

Sepsis or septic shock is a systemic acidic condition caused by acidic lifestyle choices, including acidic food, drink, and drugs - especially dextrose and/or antibiotic IV's given at hospitals around the world.

When someone is over-acid and becomes tired, sick and/or injured and nothing is done to buffer or neutralize the excess environmental, dietary, metabolic, and/or cellular degenerative acids, then death from acidosis or sepsis becomes inevitable.

Most people believe that sepsis or acidosis is an infection. It is not!

It is an out-fection from personal acidic lifestyle and dietary choice. An out-fection, in the body, is the cell breaking down from the inside out from an emotional or physical stress or disturbance giving rise to increased acidity. Dietary and/or metabolic acids are generally the cause of all out-fections or cellular transformations - not the infection from some harmless bacterium and/or yeast. And, a bacterium and/or yeast present in the blood or tissues is the evidence of sepsis or an acidic state that gives rise to biological transformation or the birth of bacteria, yeast or mold.

Isn't that what happens to food when it spoils? Bacteria, yeast and mold appear as the food is spoiling and are not the cause of the spoiling. Food spoils from the inside out not the outside in. Human or animal cells spoil from the inside out not the outside in. This is why I call cellular transformation from a healthy state to an unhealthy state an out-fection not an infection.....because germs are born in us and from us from spoiling or decaying cells. And, germs do not cause dis-ease or disease!

Once again sepsis is caused from an individual's hyper-inflammatory or hyper-acidic state created from an acidic lifestyle, diet, metabolism, environment, stress, and/or injury.

Unfortunately, sepsis has a NO or very low Standard of Care in hospitals, and hospital-induced out-fections created from dextrose, glucose, antibiotic IV's, other acidic medications, and of course the acidic hospital food and drink.

This is exactly what happened to a 20 year old Brazilian model, Mariana Bridi da Costa, whose hands and feet went acidic, then gangrene and finally were amputated in a bid to save her life from sepsis or systemic latent tissue acidosis. Please watch the following YouTube:

Ms. Bridi da Costa first sought medical advice after feeling ill in late December from a urinary tract out-fection. (I suspect probably brought on by the ingestion of too much acidic Holiday food and drink)

Hospital officials said she was transferred to Dorio Silva on January 3rd in "septic shock," or "acidic shock," a serious health condition caused by dietary and metabolic acid that leads to stage 4 acidosis or inflammation. If stage 4 acidosis or inflammation is not treated with alkaline buffers, such as oral sodium and/or potassium bicarbonate or IV, it will lead to stage 5, 6 and 7 acidosis or induration, ulceration and then degeneration of the cells, tissues and organs.

The end result from the lack of alkaline treatment to reverse the excess acidity will always end in the death of the patient. This is what happened to this young vibrant Brazilian woman. The medical doctors had NO IDEA how to treat or reverse the sepsis or excess acidity! Why? Because they do not learn this
in medical school. Sepsis has no known etiology.

Ms. Bridi da Costa, at the young age of 20 died from systemic acidosis from the lack of proper alkaline treatment. Acidic drugs, such as antibiotics and metabolic acids ravaged her body which forced doctors to perform amputations of her extremities and extract part of her stomach as well as both kidneys. I strongly believe that Ms. Bridi da Costa would be alive, healthy and strong today, if, the prevailing 19th Century germ theory medical dogma and subsequent acidic treatment protocols of antibiotics would have been simply replaced with alkaline fluids of sodium, magnesium and potassium bicarbonate and alkaline water and foods.

Sepsis is a 100% preventable and treatable event that affects approximately 2 million people in the USA every year and results in hundreds of thousands of deaths every year. Current medical statistics state over 250,000 deaths per year from septic shock in the USA alone. I personally believe it is in the millions and is 100% preventable! But, ignorance prevails!

Currently, medical science perceives there is no early diagnostic test nor effective treatment for sepsis and severe sepsis or over-acidity. But this is not true! There is a diagnostic test!

The early diagnostic test is simple, inexpensive and accurate. All you need to do is test the pH of the urine and saliva with litmus paper. If the urine and saliva is dropping from a normal 7.2 pH or higher to under 7 and then into the low 6's, 5's and then 4's, you are headed toward sepsis or systemic acidosis!

The treatment is simple, inexpensive, effective and fast---hyper-alkalize the blood and tissues with sodium and/or potassium bicarbonate pushing the urine and saliva pH back up to the normal 7.2 or in the case of sepsis to an 8.5 to 9 pH. This will begin the process of quickly buffering or neutralizing the dietary, metabolic and/or cellular acids that are breaking down the body cells, which is also creating the increased titers of bacteria and yeast in the blood. The high titers of yeast and bacteria can also be seen in a live unchanged blood test and the cellular transformation or breakdown can be seen in the Mycotoxic Oxidative Stress Test in advance of sepsis or systemic acidosis.

It is very important to understand and remember that the increase of bacteria and/or yeast in the blood from sepsis or excess acidity, such as psuedomonas bacteria found in Ms. Bridi da Costa or candida albicans is not the cause of the sepsis but is the result of the sepsis or increased acidity. Body cells transform or breakdown to bacteria and yeast and then to mold as a result of excess tissue acidity and not from an infection from the atmosphere. Therefore, Germs DO NOT CAUSE DISEASE but are the result of excess tissue acidity not eliminated through urination, perspiration, respiration and/or defecation! Acid is the only CAUSE of dis-ease and disease, including sepsis!

One other important point is that the blood will do everything it can to maintain its delicate pH balance at 7.365. All acids dietary and/or metabolic acids are thrown out into the connective tissue and interstitial fluids. If the lymphatic system cannot move the acids out of the tissues and interstitial fluids then body cells begin transforming or breaking down. This results in the birth of bacteria, yeast and then mold and the increase of acids that will ravage the organs that sustain life.

The ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS "Domino Effect" of tissue wasting and acidity is to hyper-alkalize the blood and then tissues with alkaline mineral salts, like sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, magnesium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate and calcium carbonate. If you use acidic IV's of dextrose, glucose and antibiotics to try and kill the harmless bacteria and yeast all you end up doing is increasing tissue acidity and accelerating the destruction of the cells, tissues and organs that sustain life leading to death of the body. This is exactly what happened to Ms. Bridi da Costa. Death by Medication. This is why I have been crying out for an end to medication and the start of alkaline education. Education not medication is the cure to all dis-ease and disease. Ignorance is what kills.

Our health system is broken and many of us understand this. But what most people do not understand is that the current medical science is old and barbaric and is broken and NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. The citizens of the world need education on how to maintain the alkaline design of their body. We do not need more medicine and we especially DO NOT NEED HEALTH INSURANCE under the current medical model. The knowledge and understanding of the "New Biology"(TM) by every citizen of the world will change lives, save lives and save trillions of dollars in needless treatments and medications.

Talk with your doctor about hyper-alkalizing your blood and then tissues with 1 liter of alkaline, 9.5 pH water with 1 tablespoon of sodium bicarbonate or an IV of 5% sodium bicarbonate solution in 1 liter of a 1% saline, dripped over 1 hour.

The Acid Sugar Negatively Affects The Human Gene

The anatomical elements or microzymas that make up Human genes remember an acid hit of sugar for two weeks, with prolonged acidic eating habits capable of permanently altering DNA, Australian research has found.

"A team studying the impact of diet on human heart tissue and mice found that cells showed the effects of a one-off acid hit of sugar for two weeks, by switching off genetic controls or the anatomical elements designed to protect the body against dietary and/or metabolic acids that lead to the symptoms of diabetes, heart disease and cancer," states Dr. Robert O. Young, Director of the pH Miracle Living Center.

"We now know that chocolate bar you had this morning can have very acute effects, and those effects can continue for up to two weeks," said lead researcher Sam El-Osta, from the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute.

"These changes continue beyond the meal itself and have the ability to alter natural metabolic responses to diet," he told Australian Associated Press Friday.

Regular acidic eating would amplify the effect, said El-Osta, with genetic damage lasting months or years, and potentially passing through bloodlines.

"To protect the healthy state of the anatomical elements that make up Human genes can be achieved with an alkaline lifestyle and diet. This alkaline protection of the genetic matter can improve the quality and the quantity of life and prevent All sickness and dis-ease," states Dr. Robert O. Young.

Prevent or Reverse Dis-Ease With Broccoli

President George H. W. Bush famously said that
he didn't like broccoli, and since he was
president, he didn't have to eat it. But if the
former president becomes over-acidic and starts
showing signs of hyper or hypoglycemia (diabetes),
he may allow broccoli on his plate after all.

New research from the University of Warwick in
England found that eating broccoli could reverse
the vascular damage to blood vessels caused by
metabolic and dietary acids that cause diabetes.

The scientists believe the chemical in broccoli
responsible for the heart-healthy effect is
sulforaphane, which promotes the creating of
alkaline buffers that protect blood vessels,
and reduces the amounts of metabolic and dietary
acids that cause cell damage.

Crucifer vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels
sprouts and cabbage, have been tied to a lower
risk of strokes and heart attacks. People with
diabetes face up to a 500 percent increase in
risk of developing cardiovascular dis-eases that
are linked to damaged blood vessels caused by
metabolic and dietary acids. They also risk other
health problems such as kidney dis-ease which is
also caused by an excessive amount of metabolic and/or
dietary acid.

High blood sugar or acid levels can cause levels
of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) to increase three-fold
to buffer the sugar and increased acidity. Sulforaphane
activates a protein called nrf2 which protects the
blood and lymphatic vessels and lowers the increase of
acidity by 73 percent.

"Our study suggests that compounds such as sulforaphane
from broccoli may help counter processes linked to
the development of vascular disease in diabetes," said
Warwick Professor Paul Thornalley. He added that in
the future it will be important to see if eating a
diet rich in broccoli and other crucifer vegetables
will benefit diabetics. "We believe it will," he said.

Heart Attacks and Strokes Caused By ACID NOT CHOLESTEROL!

Longtime readers of my health and wellness newsletters know I've been warning that 100 percent of ALL people who have a heart attacks or strokes do not have elevated cholesterol levels - they have elevated acid levels!

A study published this past week not only confirms my theory, but indicates that almost 75 percent of people hospitalized with a heart attack or stroke have had cholesterol levels that were within current normal cholesterol guidelines.

The alleged link between high cholesterol levels and heart attack and stroke risk has been the main support for the dietary cholesterol theory. But I have known for over a decade that 50 percent of people who have a heart attack do not have elevated cholesterol levels, and the new study adds even more proof to my theory.

So what is the real cause? Can you spell ACID!

The big pharmaceutical companies all advocate the use of statin drugs such as Lipitor, Zocor, and Crestor, to lower cholesterol. However, results from the study most commonly cited by statin proponents shows that people with the highest LDL cholesterol levels (the so-called “bad” cholesterol that is saving your life) wound up with no better results from taking statins than those with lower blood cholesterol levels. This indicated that the reduction of LDL cholesterol by the statin drug did not predict a person's risk of coronary heart disease.

There is compelling and overwhelming evidence to suggest that dietary and metabolic acid that causes irritation, inflammation, ulceration and degeneration is seen in every case of heart attack and stroke and is the fundamental cause of high cholesterol, atherosclerosis, heart attack and stroke.

Dear Senator Daschle & Director Lambrew;

It is time to embrace Natural Holistic Health Care as a primary resource in our Health Care System. Natural Holistic Health Care needs to stand on solid and even ground with the current Allopathic Practices in our Health Care System. Natural Holistic Health Care needs to be overseen by individuals who revere and have studied this approach to well-being. I am certain that there are many intelligent, educated and maybe even self-educated individuals who are more than qualified to create a responsible team and a set of standards.

At the age of 32, the year was 1985, I became devastatingly ill. Up until this point I had always followed the allopathic approach for health care and had no exposure to any alternative approaches. For the first week, I stayed home from my high tech position, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I rested and slept experiencing extreme enervation, sleeping 18 hours a day and barely able to function during my awake time accompanied by numerous symptoms. I kept thinking, tomorrow I will go back to work or next Monday. If I could just get up and stay awake. I was told by my employer that by the end of the week I needed to have a doctor's note stating, my condition would keep me from working. All my vital signs and lab tests appeared medically normal! I had many non-specific complaints. None of which did my medical doctor document, he said, "when you feel better, the symptoms will go away"! It didn't make sense then and it still does not make sense today, what was causing all my symptoms was indeed primary. He implied that a condition has been documented that fits my profile with a non-specific name "chronic malaise". There is 'nothing' that can be done to help you; the longest documented case is now at 12 years!! The twelve years sort of rang in my head as a very unreal number, what was he saying; people have had this condition for twelve years and the medical community knows nothing!!

As I struggled to sit up long enough to make a few phone calls, I described my condition to the voice on the other end of the phone; most would not even make an appointment to see me. I asked my doctor for a referral and was able to make two appointments, in the Boston area with two of the top medical facilities in the country and the world; one in the hematology department, and the other in the infectious disease department. I wasn't going to die and there was nothing that could be done!

At that point, hearing that I was not going to die wasn't necessarily good news. The amount of pain and constant discomfort was mostly unbearable with no days off, no vacations and no one to turn to for help.

It would be a year and a half before I found a doctor with a personal interest in a holistic approach to healing balanced with his medical training. It was then that I received a specific diagnosis and a willingness to systematically look at my symptoms. Someone who actually listened to me assuming that I just might know what I was talking about; after all I do live inside my own body to which my brain is attached. I began my journey into the alternative world of healing. I had found a medical doctor who encouraged and helped empower me to keep searching and trying alternative options. I quickly learned that I could not discuss my holistic choice with family or acquaintances without someone raising the danger or quack flag. What about the 'lets be intelligent' flag and research some options?

I explored and embraced many alternative therapies. Each played a role in relieving some level of discomfort even if for a short while. Then in 2002 and again in 2004, I was introduced to the work of Robert O. Young, Ph.D., D.Sc., N.D. of The pH Miracle Center in Valley Center, California. In March of 2005, I was blessed to hear Dr. Young speak twice here in the Boston area while on a book tour. Every cell in my body knew this was the truth. I decided that if Dr. Young's research and conclusions were correct, then I should be able to follow his alkaline eating program and notice improvement, hopefully enough improvement to get strong enough to travel to California and study with him. I wasn't going to put all my focus, energy and money into something unless it was based on good science; it had to make sense, I had way too many symptoms. In April 2006, I traveled to Dr. Young's ranch to learn how to get well. I came home with enough information to make this my way of life. I am restoring my own health and well-being without drugs, when the medical community at large said "There is no Cure"! The Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia states; "There is no known cause and no known cure" for Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome.

I can state with confidence, "there is a known cause worth giving attention to and there is a path worth pursuing that is revealing the restoration of health. I was considering using the word "cure" but I realize that the medical cure does not necessarily equate to restoration of health. Read Sick and Tired by Robert O. Young, Ph.D., D.Sc., N.D. specifically Chapter 4: The Many Symptoms of Yeast/Fungus Infestation. This chapter describes many of my symptoms and the reasons for them which the medical community stated as being non-specific and did not know why.

When I review my lab tests from 20+ years ago and apply Dr. Young's teaching, it is easy to see that I was very ill and why! Had my blood work been more extensive, much more would be revealed.

Dr. Young openly and with integrity states that his work stands on the shoulders of scientists of the past who have revealed scientific documentation towards the same conclusions, many of these individuals have been pushed into obscurity. They are only guilty for being truth seekers. For their brilliant undying dedication of holding their focus on finding the truth, of spending hours and hours of their time observing, waiting and watching for consistent results. Of creatively figuring out ways to discover the truth; hours of documenting what was observed; and in some cases witnessing the intentional destruction of their life long endeavors by the authorities.

There is way too much suffering in this world that just isn't necessary. It is time to allow true freedom of choice beyond the walls of the traditional medical structure; or expand the walls of the allopathic thinking to embrace other research approaches.

Mom's Breast Tumor Is Gone In 12 Weeks!

I have been fortunate to be able to pass along some of your wisdom to many of my family members. Most notably my mother Maria. Without your insight she might very well not be with us now. She was once told by her doctor that she should go in for a biopsy for a lump in her breast. I persuaded her to wait and I coached her on a daily basis using the knowledge I have gained from reading your books, watching yours and Shelley's DVD's, youtube videos, ect. Three months later her doctor could not find the lump in the breast anymore and canceled the planned biopsy!

I have attended Anthony Robbins' "Unleash the Power Within Weekend" where Tony or one of his facilitators teaches your health approach. That Monday, Joseph McClendon III ( he won the motorcycle on "American Chopper") talked about how he helped his mother overcome diagnosed cancer, and how she lived many many years beyond what her doctors had told her. I believed him that day and I wished that I could help someone in the same way.

Sometimes wonderful news arrives in unique packages.

I am a registered nurse, and I study alternative health measures and nutrition. My husband and I have six precious children.



The story behind our impressive news began in January of 2008. I thought our youngest child, Gabriel, possibly had a bladder infection. What started out to be a somewhat routine doctor visit ended up with disturbing news. Our family doctor said he suspected Gabriel had Type 1 Diabetes. Shock hit me as I tried to absorb the news. We had no family history of Diabetes, and overall our family had been very healthy. The extensive tests taken the next day revealed that our six-year-old son would probably be insulin-dependent within six months.

Our pediatric endocrinologist insisted that there was nothing we could do to prevent the onset of Diabetes. He said that no dietary changes were needed or would help.

After scouring all known resources and a lot of prayers, I discovered Dr. Young's research. Dr. Young graciously invited us to a microscopy class to observe, learn and have a look at both the live and dried blood of Gabriel.

We thought Gabriel had been on a reasonably healthy diet, but as we would come to realize, it was far too acidic with way too many carbohydrates.

We chose to dive head-first into the pH Miracle program. Immediately his blood sugar levels came to within normal ranges. His weak body soon returned to its previous vigor.

Our story took a twist in the road when only four months later our ten year old son, Nathan, was also diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. At the same time, a blood test revealed that Gabriel had no measurable insulin left in his blood. Although we were thankful that Gabriel was maintaining normal blood sugar levels, we grieved at what appeared to be the loss of insulin production. Meanwhile, people were amazed when I told them our story. This seemed impossible according to anyone in the medical field.

Dr. Young invited us out to the pH Miracle Center again. Gabriel's blood sample showed remarkable improvement. Nathan's blood sample confirmed his diagnosis. Nathan joined his brother on the pH Miracle pH balancing and nutritional adventure.

In July, after two months of perseverance, we ended up back at our doctor's office. We were amazed when he announced the results of both boys' recent lab results. Gabriel's pancreas had once again begun to produce some insulin. Nathan went from insufficient insulin levels to overproducing insulin in order to compensate for insulin antibodies present. Both were maintaining normal blood sugar levels. We were overwhelmed with gratitude.

Back to the daily routine with renewed vigor, hope kept us lock-step in the COWS plan... Chlorophyll, healthy Oils, high-alkaline Water, and minerals Salts.

We celebrated Gabriel's six month anniversary since being diagnosed. The pediatric endocrinologist had predicted Gabriel would be insulin-dependent within six months. What a wonderful feeling it was for him to have a normal blood sugar that day and to watch Gabriel playing and swimming so joyfully. Had it not been for what we had so recently learned, that day could have been another sad day spent in the hospital dealing with the grueling struggle of insulin dependence.

September, two months later, brought more amazing news. Our doctor sat us down with their new lab results. He said Nathan no longer appeared to exhibit lab results and symptoms of a Type 1 Diabetic. In their diagnostic and labeling system, he would now be categorized as a Type 2 Diabetic. Gabriel, incredibly, would no longer be considered a diabetic. His fasting and postprandial insulin levels were considered normal!

Now, it is January of 2009, and our journey continues. It has been one year since we found out Gabriel had Diabetes. We are introducing more carbohydrates into Gabriel's diet. He is tolerating them well. Nathan is doing well and hoping to follow in his brother's footsteps.

Helping our children with their new dietary opportunity has brought many touching and comical stories. We could write a book. Often the boys hug me and thank me for being on the pH diet and their renewed health. We have adopted an "attitude of gratitude" as our motto.

One key to encouraging them seems to be having a good alkalinizing substitute for different occasions. Gabriel wanted radishes in his plastic Easter eggs. For Christmas, Nathan helped concoct great gingerbread and cutout "sugar" cookies. We experimented and came up with a great alkaline brownie!

Tears well up in my eyes as I remember an incident which happened this past weekend. Gabriel was invited to a slumber party. To prepare for this big event, I called the mom hosting the party to get the menu. We carefully prepared pH snacks and meals that corresponded with the festivities. When I came to pick Gabriel up, he came running towards me with his sweet brown eyes twinkling and a toothy grin.

"Mom!" he exclaimed. "Guess what I got from the piñata? All toys!" The hosting parents had so thoughtfully considered Gabriel's diet. I asked him to tell me about his favorite part of the party. Without hesitation he shouted with zeal "The FOOD!" He then, with a big bear hug, whispered "My food tasted so much better than their food. Thank you, Mom."

When people ask me how we could live with a special diet, I answer gently "How could I not with what we now know?"

Sometimes wonderful news does arrive in unique packages. We thank God for ours.

Reduce Acids With Herbs and Spices and Improve Your Health

Reach for the spice rack and spice up your health as well as your food. Almost every day, researchers discover more and more ways that herbs and spices boost health, providing benefits for health concerns from a cancer condition to Alzheimer’s dis-ease.

The main reason for spices’ healthy shot in the arm is the phytochemicals they contain. Phytochemicals are powerful complex substances that are found in high concentrations in many herbs and spices.

Add liberal amounts of these spices to your food:

1) Cinnamon. Cinnamon helps the body buffer the acid glucose and in turn helps to reduce the body's need of acid binding cholesterol, which may protect from heart dis-ease and diabetes and improve the health of those already suffering from these acidic symptoms. Cinnamon may also help in weight loss by reducing dietary and metabolic acid.

2) Cilantro. Like other dark, leafy vegetables, cilantro is high in vitamins A and K as well as beta-carotene. It also contains a natural antibiotic called dodecenal, which was shown in a study to be more effective than a prescription antibiotic at buffering acid and biologically transforming the bacteria Salmonella.

3) Garlic. Ancient Egyptians used garlic to treat heart disease, and modern science has found it to be a potent antioxidant which lowers dietary and metabolic acid and thus is anti-thrombotic.

4) Ginger. Ginger is a powerful anti-inflammatory which combats dietary and metabolic acids that cause inflammation. It also soothes queasy acid stomachs due to motion sickness, morning sickness and post-operative nausea - all acidic conditions.

5) Parsley. Parsley has high amounts of lutein and zeaxanthin that promote eye health as well as large amounts of vitamins A and K. It may be useful in combating the acids that cause cancer, heart disease and allergies.

6) Rosemary. The phytochemicals or anti-acids in rosemary cut the cancerous-inducing acids contained in all meats. It may also aid diabetics and slow aging by reducing dietary and metabolic acids.

7) Turmeric. The active ingredient in turmeric, curcumin, is an extremely powerful anti-inflammatory or anti-acid substance. It may play a role in buffering the acids that cause ALL cancerous conditions and reducing the buildup of acidic plaque in the brain associated with Alzheimer’s.

Vibrate Your Acidic Fat Away!

According to a report that was published last year in the online edition of "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences," imperceptible vibrations transmitted through the whole body could help prevent weight gain in mice by removing tissue acidosis and thus inhibiting the production of fat cells to store non-eliminated environmental, dietary and/or metabolic acid.

Staying slim may be as simple as standing still on a whole body vibrational plate, and allowing the vibration to exercise every cell in the body.

In a study led by Clinton Rubin, chair of the department of biomedical engineering at Stony Brook University, in New York, mice that stood on a vibrating platform for 15 minutes daily produced fewer acid bound fat cells than normal. The findings complicate a traditional understanding of weight loss that focuses mainly on metabolism.

Researchers have known for quite a while that mechanical signals can determine the fate of stem cells--undifferentiated cells that divide and become many different types of tissue - in the small intestine. Rubin, who calls himself a "bonehead," led the pack in understanding how bones develop long before he turned his attention to fat. "Mechanical signals are important for stem cells to decide what to be when they grow up," he says.
Bones need mechanical input in order to grow and stay strong.

Studies at NASA have shown that astronauts lose 2.5 percent of their bone density each month they stay in space. On the other hand, athletes, like archers or baseball players, who selectively work one arm or leg, will grow thicker bones on that side of the body.

According to Dr. Robert O. Young, Director of Research at the pH Miracle Living Center, "a stress in the body, whether intentional or not, will cause blood to flow to that area. The increase in blood flow will result in the blood transforming into new bone, muscle, nerve, etc., in response to the stress. This is why a tennis player will have one arm that is being stressed larger than the other arm that is not being stressed."

To solve the problem of bone loss in space, Rubin started experimenting with vibrations. At the Johnson Space Center, in Houston, volunteer test subjects endured 90 days of fully horizontal bed rest, which roughly simulates what the body goes through during zero gravity. Without having to carry the weight of the body, the skeleton loses much of its mass. So Rubin designed a vibrating platform that would recreate some of the strain of weight. For 10 minutes a day, the device gets cranked up to 30 hertz, an imperceptible level of oscillation. The vibrations run up the body through the feet, sending mechanical signals to stem cells in the small intestine. The signals reach these cells in their adolescence, before they differentiate, and encourage them to become blood cells that then become bone cells or something else.

At some point, Rubin asked the question that led him to study fat. "We saw that we could grow bones with these signals," he says. But "if we're growing bone, what aren't we growing?" As he showed in research published last year, the answer is acid bound fat cells.

Rubin used the same device as the one in the NASA study to see if vibrations would have any effect on the weight of mice. Every day, for 15 minutes, the mice were placed on the platform, this time vibrating at 30 Hz. After 12 weeks, the mice had 27.4 percent less fat in their torsos than a control group.
