One Thousand Avocados For God

As the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays approach in 2008, we now find ourselves, as a nation and as a planet, in quite a bit of political, economic, health and enviornmental disarray.

We are all looking for ways to make ends meet and cut down on the stress in our lives. So I will address these issues. My guess is that many of you feel some sort of concern about financial issues whether it is the daily budget, dwindling savings, credit card bills, money for college bills, mileage and gas prices for the aging family automobiles, and so on.

Its the same at the Young homestead here at Rancho Del Sol. Every year I pray for more rain and try to figure out how to save money on the expensive California water we need for thousands of avocado and grapefruit trees. I am always trying to figure out where to save money so I can use that money to reach more people around the world with a pH Miracle message of health and well-being.

If you read my email letters on a regular basis, you will know that I am quite positive that following a healthy, organic, alkaline diet with many raw, green vegetables will save you money over time. Whether you have 50 more years to live or 25, most medical expenses have traditionally occurred in the later years of life. And those expenses can be a thing of the past.

Once your body is alkaline, and once you have rebuilt your blood with my C.O.W.S. program, and once the pH of your urine is around 7.4 on a consistent basis, you are well on your way to permanently increased health and vigor as well as great financial savings.

Remember, the #1 reason for bankruptcy in America for many years has been medical bills. That will not happen to you. I hear from people all the time that pretty much the only reason they visit the doctor anymore is to gloat a bit, to follow-up on some old ailment now in the rear-view mirror, to lecture the poor old besieged doc on the importance of nutrition in health, or to give him a copy of The pH Miracle book. By the way, if you write to me and tell me that you really did get your doctor to read The pH Miracle book that Shelley and I wrote, I'll send you a free copy to replace the one you gave to your physician. I will also be fascinated to hear your story. In fact, I may share it with everybody in one of these emails.

Many people who have been following a balanced pH 80/20 alkaline/acid diet for many years tell us about all the different ways they save money. Some people have replaced their health insurance with a combination of self-insurance, accident insurance, a hospital indemnity policy, and disability programs. Some people on Medicare have not purchased the supplemental insurance because they have not visited the former family physician for several years and are hoping not to for the rest of their lives. Besides, they tell me, they aren't likely to go the drug route anyway now that they know the cucumber and avocado route.

Many have told us that they have saved money because they no longer have doctor visits, co-pays, pharmaceutical drugs, deductibles, tests, clinic and lab fees, medical gadgets, lost time and sick days, and so on. Not to mention the increased energy, creativity, and productivity. Now lets talk about stress. About two years ago, I emailed you an article about Mother Theresa whose level of consciousness allowed her to function in love, joy, peace and enlightenment. Many of you said that you enjoyed that article. Such states of mind--whether they are linked to experiences that are primarily sensory, emotional, psychological, intellectual or spiritual--can only be accompanied by an absence of stress at the physiological or body level.

If you read my emails with any consistency, then you know that there is a solid scientific link between the mind and the body, the psychosomatic or the "somatopsychic." It goes both ways.

We started hearing the world psychosomatic at least 40 or 50 years ago. The mind can cause the body to suffer and the body can cause the mind to suffer. Therefore, it makes good sense to take care of both.

I have discussed from time to time the importance of minimizing stress in our lives. When our minds are filled with thoughts and feelings that include the negative perceptions and experiences of fear, anger and sadness, we are vulnerable to the creation of excessive bodily acid. Toxic acids are actually secreted from various parts of the body directly into the bloodstream when we are in a negative emotional state.

On the other hand, leading a life that includes more experiences in what we might call the love zone can be a challenge. I forget who coined the word love zone, but this state of being includes feelings of affection, joy, compassion, empathy, kindness, happiness and bliss. But living in this zone--you may have noticed--is easier said than done. The world seems so often to pull mightily at the most vulnerable areas of our lives. Our preoccupation with the outer world and things over which we have no control can keep us from entering into those precious moments or hours in the stress-free love zone.

There is one thing in particular that we can do to help us frequent this zone as much as possible. And I will back into this concept with a little story which I enjoy. I call this the 1,000 avocados for God story. It goes like this:

A plantation owner, somewhat foolishly accustomed to bartering with God, prayed for a good harvest. He pleaded thusly: "Dear God, if You would please bring me a great avocado harvest, as a service I will give You 1,000 avocados from the harvest."

God granted him a great harvest. Thus, the plantation owner loaded up a thousand avocados in his wagon and had his foreman deliver them to the temple. Along the way, the foreman was pestered by two little beggar boys who pleaded for an avocado to ward off their hunger. "Shoo, shoo, go away," said the foreman, knowing that the plantation owner had loaded exactly 1,000 avocados.

The hungry little boys ran alongside the wagon and continued to beg. Finally, the hired hand relented and gave each of them an avocado. He thought to himself, who would count all these avocados and know that two are missing from a thousand?

But the plantation owner had warned the chief overseer of the temple to count the avocados to make sure that the foreman had not sold some along the way. He found out that two were missing and had been given to beggars and the plantation owner fired the foreman. That night the plantation owner had a dream. In his dream, God came to him and said, I have granted your prayer for a great harvest, but you have not kept your agreement.

The plantation owner pleaded his case, But God, I took the avocados to you just as I said. God replied, Well, I am sorry that you are in error my friend, because so far, I have received only two. I think you can see why I enjoy this story. And it has many implications far beyond the simple notion that Divine Providence and charity are related. In fact, we might say that Divine Providence resonates to charity.

There is a great deal of emerging evidence and a wonderful new area of study which says that there is a human field of energy which is very subtle, yet powerful, pervasive and immortal.

There is a field of energy which connects every one of us to every one of us. Some refer to this energy as levels of consciousness--and the study of this energy focuses especially on various states of higher consciousness.

Regardless of our personal level of consciousness, we are not only connected to this field of energy, but we are influencing it just as it influences us in return. There is emerging evidence, both experiential and research, that says that as our level of consciousness rises, our body has an increasing ability or tendency to heal itself. There are increasing numbers of prayer studies that show that healing is affected by prayer.

In Dr. David Hawkins book, Power Vs. Force, he designates and describes our levels of consciousness from low to high levels. In the pathological area, he lists (low to high) shame, guilt, apathy, grief, fear, desire, anger, and false pride. The ascending corresponding emotions at those lower levels are humiliation, blame, despair, regret, anxiety, craving, hate, and scorn. As we pass from pathological states into higher states of health and well-being, Hawkins designates and defines (low to high) courage, neutrality, willingness, acceptance, reason, love, joy, peace, and enlightenment. The ascending corresponding emotions at these higher levels are affirmation, trust, optimism, forgiveness, understanding, reverence, serenity, bliss and ineffable.

By contemplating upon these two hierarchies of human levels of consciousness and corresponding emotions, you can easily see the beauty that unfolds as we achieve higher and higher levels of consciousness. Higher levels mean less stress, or course, which means less acid in your body. The simple question then becomes, what is it that I can do to help myself achieve an increasing degree of health, happiness and serenity in my own life? As I have written before, a healthy and peaceful lifestyle includes choosing an alkaline and nutritional diet, exercise, rest and relaxation, good company, doing work which we enjoy, body massage, meditation, sincere gratitude, a reverence for all life, and so on. Some will argue that these conditions are difficult to achieve in a world of economic disarray. Just viewing the problems of hunger and homelessness in the world is frightening. In America, we are told that more than a million people are now losing their homes due to mortgage default. And so, how can we ascend to levels of peace in such a world with so much apparent negativity?

What else is it that we can do to ascend our own levels of consciousness and somehow feel a greater sense of love, the absence of fear, and more acceptance of so many people with whom we seem to have nothing in common, little understanding, a different set of values, and with whom we perceive ourselves to operate from a completely different belief system about the world?

How do we come to a sense of peace and diminish our reflexive stress--the same stress that causes acidic reactions in our body--to the many seemingly unacceptable political, economic, unhappy human elements that surround us?

I believe that science will soon confirm what some have known over the millennia. Virtually all Holy Scripture from all the major religions are in accordance with the idea that the highest devotion to God--man's greatest gift to the energy field of the world in which we are all encompassed--is service to mankind. Research into higher consciousness tells us that the energy of loving service is recorded in the universe on into infinity.

Thus, as Thanksgiving and Christmas approaches in the problematic year of 2008, one of the greatest stress-releasing gifts we can give to ourselves is to give the gift of service to others.

And nothing fosters charitable feelings like charitable actions. Nothing fosters more the acceptance of other people than lending a helping hand. Nothing will bring forth the peace and wisdom that we need to create within ourselves more than providing service to the poor, the needy, the uneducated, the downtrodden, and the afflicted.

Look for service projects in your area and take your family into the world to help others. And over time, nothing will help you to diminish the stress inside your own body more than helping to diminish the stress in those around us. What goes round comes round, and to whatever degree your load of avocados means abundant energy, creativity, intelligence, leadership, money, or time for everyone in the world, I know that you can figure out how to deliver more than two.

An Increase In Kidney Stones In U.S. Children

Why is there an increase in kidney stones, considered to be an acid condition of the middle age, now showing up in children as young as 5? The answer is simple! As the song goes, sugar in the morning, sugar in the evening, sugar at supper time. . . Sugar, in ALL its forms is the first major cause of kidney stones. The second major cause of stones is animal protein and the third major cause is the lack of physical exercise with sweating.

Our children are over-acid from too much sugar, animal protein and the lack of exercise. If you look at the breakfast that U.S. children are eating it is all highly acidic foods and drinks. From sugary cereals, milk, fruit juices to eggs and bacon. The human body, especially a child's body cannot deal with ALL the food and drink acid. The body has to protect itself from dietary acid so it binds it with mineral salts, like sodium, calcium and potassium. This natural biological process creates stones as a protection to the organs that sustain life. Kidney stones, gallstones, bladder stones, breast stones, brain stones, etc., are all the result of acid from the diet and lifestyle. A stone is just the beginning. If the acid lifestyle and diet continues this will surely lead to stroke, diabetes and cancer, which are all on the rise in our children.

What is happening to our children has to stop and it must begin with the parents. Parents need to be the change we need to see in our children. Parents need to get off their acidic lifestyles and diet and start alkalizing their bodies as they then turn to their children. Just like in an airplane emergency - first put on your oxygen mask and then put on your child's mask.

So, how do you prevent or reverse kidney stones, diabetes, stroke and cancer in a child? The answer is simple! With an alkaline lifestyle and diet. I refer to this alkaline lifestyle and diet as "pH Miracle Living." The program for "pH Miracle Living" is encapsulated in my "C.O.W.S." Plan. The "C.O.W.S." Plan stands for the following:

"C" - Chlorophyll, Clay and Cleansing with green plant foods, green vegetable juices, liquid chlorophyll, and montmorillonite clay.

"O" - Oxygen and Oil including daily exercise for at least 1 hour and 2 to 3 ounces of unsaturated oil from avocado, hemp, pomegarnate, pumpkin, flax and olive.

"W" - Water that is pure and ionized at a pH of 9.5 and an electrical potential of -150 mV.

"S" - Salt and sunshine with an increase in sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium mineral salts and 30 minutes a day of sunshine.

Walt Disney said, "our future is our children." Our children have the human right to health, energy and happiness. Our children need our love and support and a lifestyle and diet that will give them the health, energy and happiness.

The cure for all sickness and dis-ease, including kidney stones is found in its prevention not in its treatment.

And now, for the article by Laurie Tarkan published in the New York Times, October 27th, 2008. To the great surprise of parents, kidney stones, once considered a disorder of middle age, are now showing up in children as young as 5 or 6.

While there are no reliable data on the number of cases, pediatric urologists and nephrologists across the country say they are seeing a steep rise in young patients. Some hospitals have opened pediatric kidney stone clinics.

“The older doctors would say in the ’70s and ’80s, they’d see a kid with a stone once every few months,” said Dr. Caleb P. Nelson, a urology instructor at Harvard Medical School who is co-director of the new kidney stone center at Children’s Hospital Boston. “Now we see kids once a week or less.”

Dr. John C. Pope IV, an associate professor of urologic surgery and pediatrics at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, said, “When we tell parents, most say they’ve never heard of a kid with a kidney stone and think something is terribly wrong with their child.”

In China recently, many children who drank milk tainted with melamine — a toxic chemical illegally added to watered-down milk to inflate the protein count — developed kidney stones.
The increase in the United States is attributed to a host of factors, including a food additive that is both legal and ubiquitous: salt.

Though most of the research on kidney stones comes from adult studies, experts believe it can be applied to children. Those studies have found that dietary factors are the leading cause of kidney stones, which are crystallizations of several substances in the urine. Stones form when these substances become too concentrated.

Forty to 65 percent of kidney stones are formed when oxalate, a byproduct of certain foods, binds to calcium in the urine. (Other common types include calcium phosphate stones and uric acid stones.) And the two biggest risk factors for this binding process are not drinking enough fluids and eating too much salt; both increase the amount of calcium and oxalate in the urine.
Excess salt has to be excreted through the kidneys, but salt binds to calcium on its way out, creating a greater concentration of calcium in the urine and the kidneys.

“What we’ve really seen is an increase in the salt load in children’s diet,” said Dr. Bruce L. Slaughenhoupt, co-director of pediatric urology and of the pediatric kidney stone clinic at the University of Wisconsin. He and other experts mentioned not just salty chips and French fries, but also processed foods like sandwich meats; canned soups; packaged meals; and even sports drinks like Gatorade, which are so popular among schoolchildren they are now sold in child-friendly juice boxes.

Children also tend not to drink enough water. “They don’t want to go to the bathroom at school; they don’t have time, so they drink less,” said Dr. Alicia Neu, medical director of pediatric nephrology and the pediatric stone clinic at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore. Instead, they are likely to drink only once they’re thirsty — but that may be too little, too late, especially for children who play sports or are just active.

“Drinking more water is the most important step in the prevention of kidney stones,” Dr. Neu said.

The incidence of kidney stones in adults has also been rising, especially in women, and experts say they see more adults in their 20s and 30s with stones; in the past, it was more common in adults in their 40s and 50s.

“It’s no longer a middle-aged disease,” Dr. Nelson said. “Most of us suspect what we’re seeing in children is the spillover of the overall increase in the whole population.”
The median age of children with stones is about 10.

Many experts say the rise in obesity is contributing to kidney stones in children as well as adults. But not all stone centers are seeing overweight children, and having a healthy weight does not preclude kidney stones. “Of the school-age and adolescent kids we’ve seen, most of them appear to be reasonably fit, active kids,” Dr. Nelson said. “We’re not seeing a parade of overweight Nintendo players.”

Dr. Slaughenhoupt has seen more overweight children at his clinic. “We haven’t compared our data yet,” he said, “but my sense is that children with stones are bigger, and some of them are morbidly obese.”

Dr. Pope, in Nashville, agreed. His hospital lies in the so-called stone belt, a swath of Southern states with a higher incidence of kidney stones, and he said doctors there saw two to three new pediatric cases a week.

“There’s no question in my mind that it is largely dietary and directly related to the childhood obesity epidemic,” he said.

Fifty to 60 percent of children with kidney stones have a family history of the disease. “If you have a family history, it’s important to recognize your kids are at risk at some point in their life,” Dr. Nelson said. “That means instilling lifelong habits of good hydration, balanced diet, and avoiding processed high-salt, high-fat foods.”

There is also evidence that sucrose, found in sodas, can also increase risk of stones, as can high-protein weight-loss diets, which are growing in popularity among teenagers.
A common misconception is that people with kidney stones should avoid calcium. In fact, dairy products have been shown to reduce the risk of stones, because the dietary calcium binds with oxalate before it is absorbed by the body, preventing it from getting into the kidneys.

Children with kidney stones can experience severe pain in their side or stomach when a stone is passing through the narrow ureter through which urine travels from the kidneys to the bladder. Younger children may have a more vague pain or stomachache, making the condition harder to diagnose. Children may feel sick to their stomach, and often there is blood in the urine.
One Saturday last February, 11-year-old Tessa Cesario of Frederick, Md., began having back pains. An aspiring ballerina who dances en pointe five nights a week, she was used to occasional aches and strains. But this one was so intense that her parents took her to the doctor.

The pediatrician ordered an X-ray, and when he phoned with the results, her parents were astonished.

“I was afraid he was calling to say she pulled something and wouldn’t be able to dance,” said her mother, Theresa Cesario. Instead, they were told that Tessa had a kidney stone.
“I thought older men get kidney stones, not kids,” Ms. Cesario said.

The treatment for kidney stones is similar in children and adults. Doctors try to let the stone pass, but if it is too large, if it blocks the flow of urine or if there is a sign of infection, it is removed through one of two types of minimally invasive surgery.

Shock-wave lithotripsy is a noninvasive procedure that uses high-energy sound waves to blast the stones into fragments that are then more easily passed. In ureteroscopy, an endoscope is inserted through the ureter to retrieve or obliterate the stone.

Tessa Cesario is taking a wait-and-see approach. Her stone is not budging, so her parents are putting off surgery until they can work it into her dance schedule. In the meantime, she has vastly reduced her salt intake by cutting back on sandwich meats, processed soups and chips.

And, her mother said, “she drinks a ton more water.”

Are Your Cosmetics or Body Care Products Killing You?

The cosmetic and body products women use every day can be contaminated with acidic chemicals, and their effects could be especially harmful for young women. The Environmental Working Group (EW) tested 20 teenaged girls between the ages of 14 and 19 and found 16 acidic chemicals in their blood and urine. The chemicals involved have been linked to disruption of the endocrine system and even cancerous conditions.

Teens are especially vulnerable in two ways. First, they use more personal care products than adult women, using an average of 17 each day with a total of 174 acidic ingredients compared to the average adult woman's usage of 12 acidic ingredients. Second, the large number of products containing damaging acidic ingredients comes at a time when girls' bodies are developing rapidly, and reproductive, immune, blood, and other systems are maturing.

Some of the endocrine sex glands that guide the body's changes are present in miniscule amounts as low as one part per trillion (ppt) and girls' bodies may be particularly sensitive to acidic chemicals that disrupt the normal function of the sex glands.

Dr. Robert O. Young, Director of Research at the pH Miracle Living Center advises that consumers avoid the following ingredients found in cosmetics and other personal care products:

1) parbens (or ingredients that have "parben" as a part of their name). Linked to endocrine gland disruption.

2) Sodium lauryl or laureth sulfate. May cause skin damage.

3) Fragrances and dyes. Tied to allergies, cancerous conditions, and difficulty with the nervous system.

4) "PEG" and "-eth." Highly toxic acidic contaminants.

5) Methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone. Linked to allergies and difficulties with the nervous system.

6) Triclosan and triclocarban. May cause thyroid challenges.

7) DMDM hydantoin and imidanzolidinyl urea. Toxic acidic contaminants.

8) Triehanolamine (TEA). Contain toxic acidic contaminants and also linked to allergies.

Some specific types of acidic products consumers should avoid include:

1) Anti-aging creams that contain lactic, glycolia, AHA and BHA acid.

2) Nail polishes and nail polish removers that contain the acid formaldehyde.

3) All dark permanent hair dyes and dyes containing peroxide, ammonia, p-phenylenediamine, and diaminobenzene.

Dr. Young suggests, "read the labels of all cosmetics or body care products before purchasing to make sure they do not contain any harmful acidic chemicals that could compromise the delicate pH balance of your body making you sick and/or tired."

Dr Jonathan Folland, who led the study, says that it is not uncommon for top swimmers to take sodium bicarbonate (another name for the substance) before a competition to give them an edge. Indeed, he showed that of nine swimmers tested, eight recorded their fastest times after ingesting a supplement of the common baking ingredient - sodiumbicarbonate.

Another small study by Dr Ronald Deitrick,of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), showed that competitive runners also benefited. Dr Deitrick, who presented his findings at the ACSM annual conference, gave 800m runners either a placebo or a sodium bicarbonate capsule, which they took with water. Although a few of the runners had minor gastrointestinal problems after swallowing the capsules, a greater number benefited significantly.

Just last week, an Australian sports scientist said that the use of legal performance-enhancing substances could become a major issue of the Beijing Olympics. "Beijing will probably be remembered for the abuse of legal aids," said Robin Parisotto on Australian radio.
And Dr Deitrick believes that bicarbonate of soda can significantly improve performance. "If you took out the participants who experienced negative side-effects... you'd see an average improvement in running times of about 2.2 seconds," Dr Deitrick says. "For a relatively short running distance, that's very significant."

But how does something so seemingly innocuous have such a dramatic effect? During prolonged or intense exercise muscles produce large amounts of acidic waste products, such as lactic acid, that lead to soreness, stiffness and fatigue. Because sodium andpotassium bicarbonate naturally reduces acids, they act as a buffer against these performance-limiting by-products.
Current research suggests that it is particularly helpful in speed-based events, including sprints, football and other fast-moving games, and middle-distance (up to 10km) running, swimming and cycling."Essentially, sodium bicarbonate is an alkaline substance that increases the pH of the blood," Dr Folland says. "This seems to reduce and offset the acidity produced in the muscles during intense, anaerobic exercise that produces lactic acid most quickly, such as fast running or swimming."

In Dr Folland's study, swimmers who took the sodium bicarbonate knocked 1.5 seconds off their time for 200m, a difference that may seem insignificant to recreational swimmers but which is substantial at elite level.

Alkaline Exercise Can Save Your Brain

Regular aerobic exercise, is alkalizing and can not only stave off the decline in brain function that often comes with age, it can also help turn back the clock on brain aging, two experts in the field report, based on a critical review of published studies.

Age or acid-related deterioration in the all-important white and gray matter in the brain makes a number of high-level "executive function" tasks -- such as planning, scheduling, working memory and multi-tasking -- much more difficult, Drs. Arthur F. Kramer and Kirk I. Erickson explain in the latest issue of the British Journal of Sports Medicine.

Yet a substantial body of research shows that these are the very processes that are most responsive to physical exercise, note the authors from the University of Illinois Beckman Institute, Urbana.

In people with or those without signs of dementia or Alzheimer's disease, regular moderate physical activity, enough to make a person breathless, has been shown to boost not only the speed and sharpness of thought but also the actual volume of brain tissue and the way in which the brain functions, Kramer and Erickson note.

For example, in a 6-month study Kramer and colleagues conducted, adults ages 60 to 75 who walked briskly for 45 minutes a day three days a week not only improved their aerobic fitness but also their mental fitness -- particularly their ability to perform executive function tasks - compared with a control group who engaged only in non-aerobic stretching and toning exercises.
These results suggest that regular moderate aerobic exercise can "reliably reverse age-related cognitive decline," Kramer and Erickson write, and that the aging brain retains its capacity to grow and develop.

According to Dr. Robert O. Acid Food Causes 1/3rd of All Heart Attacks

Diets heavy in acid forming fried foods, sugary snacks and meat account for about 35 percent of heart attacks globally, researchers reported on Monday.

Their study of 52 countries showed that people who ate a "Western" acidic diet based on meat, eggs and junk food were more likely to have heart attacks, while those who ate more alkaline fruits and vegetables had a lower risk.

The study supports previous findings that show acidic junk food and animal fats can cause heart disease, and especially heart attacks.

Dr. Salim Yusuf at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, and colleagues questioned more than 16,000 patients, 5,700 of whom had just suffered a first heart attack.
They took blood samples and had each patient fill out a detailed form on their eating habits between February 1999 and March 2003.

They divided the volunteers into three groups.

"The first factor was labeled 'Oriental' because of its high loading on tofu and soy and other sauces," they wrote in their report, published in the journal Circulation.

"The second factor was labeled 'Western' because of its high loading on fried food, surgary snacks, and meat intake. The third dietary factor was labeled 'prudent' because of its high loadings on fruit and vegetable intake."

People who ate more alkaline fruits and vegetables had a 30 percent lower risk of heart attack compared to people who ate little or none of these foods, they found.

People eating the acidic Western diet had a 35 percent greater risk of heart attack compared to people who consumed little or no fried foods and meat. Those eating the "Oriental" diet had an average risk of heart attack compared to the others.

The tofu-rich diet could be neutral rather than protective because it is high in processed deionized sodium, they said.

Get OFF Your FAT ACID and Go To Health!

The following scientific discourse are twenty-five important points to understand concerning the creation of hydrochloric acid (HCL) and sodium bicarbonate in the stomach lining, the ingestion of protein and sugar and how acid/alkaline biochemistry, physiology, and anatomy relate to health, sickness, and disease.

Unfortunately, Dr. Royal Rife, a contemporary medical doctor and scientist, and many other savants did not and do not understand how acid/base are created in the body and the onset of latent tissue acidosis. Welcome to the 21st century and Dr. Young's "New Biology."

How is acid/base created in the body?

1) The parietal or cover cells of the stomach split the sodium chloride of the blood. The sodium is used to bind with water and carbon dioxide to form the alkaline salt, sodium bicarbonate or NaHCO3. The biochemistry is: H20 + CO2 + NaCl = NaHCO3 + HCL.

2) For each molecule of sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) made, a molecule of hydrochloric acid (HCL) is made and secreted into the digestive system - specifically, the stomach (the gastric pits in the stomach) - to be eliminated.

3) The chloride ion from the sodium chloride (salt) binds to an acid or proton forming HCL as a waste product of sodium bicarbonate production.

4) When large amounts of acids, including HCL, enter the stomach from a rich protein meal, acid is withdrawn from the acid-base household. The organism would die if the resulting alkalosis - or NaHCO3 (base flood) or base surplus - created by the stomach was not taken up by the alkalophile glands that need these quick bases in order to build up their strong sodium bicarbonate secretions. These glands and organs are the stomach, pancreas, Brunner's glands (between the pylorus and the junctions of the bile and pancreatic ducts), Lieberkuhn's glands in the liver and its bile with its strong acid binding capabilities which it has to produce.

5) When a rich protein and carbohydrate meal is ingested, the stomach begins to manufacture and secrete sodium bicarbonate (NHCO3) to alkalize the acids from the food ingested. This causes a loss in the alkaline reserves and an increase in acid and/or HCL found in the gastric pits of the stomach. These acids and/or HCL are taken up by the blood which lowers blood plasma pH. The blood eliminates this increase in gastrointestinal acid by throwing it off into the Pishinger's spaces.

6) The space enclosed by these finer and finer fibers is called the Pishinger's space, or the extracellular space that contains the fluids that bath and feed each and every cell while carrying away the waste from those same cells. There is no mention of this organ in American physiology text books. There is mention of the extracellular space but not of any organ that stores acids from metabolism and diet, like the kidney. I call this organ the "pre-kidney."

7) After a rich protein or sugary meal, the urine pH becomes alkaline. Protein and sugar nourishment then react in acidic fashion in the organism by the production of sulfuric, phosporhoric, nitric, uric, lactic, and acetylaldehyde acids, respectively, but also through the formation and excretion of base in the urine. This is a double loss of bases.

8) During heavy exercise, if the the resulting lactic acid was not adsorbed by the collagen fibers, the specific acid catchers of the body, the organism would die. The total collection of these fibers is the largest organ of the body called SCHADE, the colloidal connective tissue organ. NO liquid exchange occurs between the blood and the parenchyma cells, or in reverse, unless it passes through this connective tissue organ. This organ connects and holds everything in our bodies in place. This organ is composed of ligaments, tendons, sinew, and the finer fibers that become the scaffolding that holds every single cell in our bodies in place. When acids are stored in this organ, which includes the muscles, inflammation and pain develop.
That is why I have stated, "acid is pain and pain is acid." You cannot have one without the other. This is the beginning of latent tissue acidosis.

9) The more acidity, the more that acids are adsorbed into the the collagen fibers to be neutralized and the less sodium bicarbonate or NaHCO3 that is taken up by the alkalophile glands. The larger the potential difference between the adsorbed acids and the amount of NaHCO3 generated with each meal, the more or less alkaline are the alkalophile glands like the pancreas, gallbladder, pylorus glands, blood, etc. The acid binding power of the connective tissue, the blood, and the alkalophile glands depends on its alkali reserve, which can be determined through blood, urine, and saliva pH, including live and dried blood analysis as taught by Dr. Robert O. Young.

10) The iso-structure of the blood maintains the pH of the blood by pushing off the acids into the connective tissue. The blood gives to the urine the same amount of acid that it receives from the tissues and liver so it can retain its iso-form. A base deficiency is always related to the deterioration of the deposit ability of the connective tissues. As long as the iso-structure of the blood is maintained, the urine - which originates from the blood - remains a faithful reflected image of the acid-base regulation, not of the blood, but of the tissues. The urine therefore is an excretion product of the tissues, not the blood. So when you are testing the pH of the urine, you are testing the pH of the tissues.

11) A latent "acidosis" is the condition that exists when there are not enough bases in the alkalophile glands because they have been used up in the process of neutralizing the acids adsorbed to the collagen fibers. This leads to compensated "acidosis." This means the blood pH has not changed but other body systems have changed. This can then lead to decompensated "acidosis" where the alkaline reserves of the blood are used up and the pH of the blood is altered. Decompensated "acidosis" can be determined by testing the blood pH, urine pH and the saliva pH. The decrease in the alkaline reserves in the body occurs because of hyper-proteinization, (eating steak!)or too much protein, and hyper-carbonization, or too much sugar. This is why 80 to 90 year old folks are all shrunk up and look like prunes. They have very little or no alkaline reserves in their alkalophile glands. When all the alkaline minerals are gone, so are you and your battery runs down. The charge of your cellular battery can be measured testing the ORP or the oxidative reduction potential of the blood using an ORP meter. As you become more acidic this energy potential or ORP decreases.

12) If there is not enough base left over after a protein or surgary meal, or enough base to neutralize and clear the acids stored in the connective tissues, a relative base deficiency develops which leads to latent tissue acidosis. When this happens the liver and pancreas are deficient of adequate alkaline juices to ensure proper alkalization of the food in your stomach and small intestine.

13) Digestion or alkalization cannot proceed without enough of these alkaline juices for the liver and pancreas, etc., and so the stomach has to produce more acid in order to make enough base, ad nauseam, and one can develop indigestion, nausea, acid reflux, GERD, ulcers, esophageal cancer and stomach cancer. All of these symptoms are not the result of too much acid. On the contrary, it is the result of too little base!

14) The stomach is NOT an organ of digestion as currently taught in ALL biology and medical texts, BUT an organ of contribution or deposit. It's function is to deposit alkaline juices to the stomach to alkalize the food and to the blood to carry to the alklophile glands!!!!

15) There is a daily rhythm to this acid base ebb and flow of the fluids of the body. The stored acids are mobilized from the connective tissues and Pishinger's spaces while we sleep.
These acids reach their maximum (base tide) concentration in this fluid, and thereby the urine (around 2 a.m. is the most acidic). The acid content of the urine directly reflects the acid content of the fluid in the Pishinger's spaces, the extracellular fluid compartments of the body. On the other hand, the Pishinger's spaces become most alkaline around 2 p.m. (the base flood) as then the most sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) is being generated by the cover cells of the stomach to alkalize the food and drink we have ingested.

16) If your urine is not alkaline by 2 p.m. you are definitely in an ACIDIC condition and lacking in alkaline reserves. The pH of the urine should run between 6.8 and 8.4.

17) After a high protein meal, the free acids formed such as sulfuric, phosphoric, uric, and nitric acids stick to the collagen fibers to remove them from the blood and protect the delicate pH of 7.365. The H+ or proton ions from these acids are neutralized by the next base flood, the sodium bicarbonate produced after the meal. The H+ or proton ion combines with the carbonate or HCO3, converts to carbonic acid, H2CO3, which converts to CO2 and H2O. The sulfuric and other acids from proteins are neutralized as follows where the HR represents any acid with the R as its acid radical (SO4, PO4, or NO3) HR + NaHCO3 <=> H2O + NaR (Ca, Mg, K)+ CO2.

18) Medical doctors and savants do not recognize latent tissue acidosis. They recognize compensated acidosis and decompensated acidosis. In compensated acidosis, breathing increases in order to blow off more carbonic acid which decreases PCO2 because of the lowered carbonate or HCO3. When the breathing rate can no longer get any faster and when the kidneys can no longer increase its' function to keep up with the acid load, then the blood pH starts to change from a pH of 7.365 to 7.3 then to 7.2. At a blood pH of 6.95 the heart relaxes and the client goes into a coma or dies.

19) Metabolism of a normal adult diet results in the generation of 50 to 100 meq of H+ or proton per day, which must be excreted if the urine acid-base balance is to be maintained. A meq is a milliequivalent which is an expression of concentration of substance per liter of solution, calculated by dividing the concentration in milligrams per 100 milliliters by the molecular weight. This process involves two basis steps; 1) the reabsorption of the filtered sodium bicarbonate or NaHCO3 and, 2) excretion of the 50 to 100 meq of H+ or proton produced each day by the formation of titratable acidity and NH4+ or ammonium. Both steps involve H+ or proton secretion from the cells of the kidney into the urine.

20) Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) must be reabsorbed into the blood stream, since the loss of NaHCO3 will increase the net acid load and lower the plasma NaHCO3 concentration. The loss of NaHCO3 in the urine is equivalent to the addition of H+ to the body since both are derived from the dissociation of H2CO3 or carbonic acid.

21) The biochemistry is: CO2 + H2O = H2CO3 = HCO3 + H+. The normal subject must reabsorb 4300 meq of NaHCO3 each day! The secreted H+ or proton ions are generated within the kidney cells from the dissociation of H2O or water. This process also results in the equimolar production OH- or hydroxyl ions. The OH- ions bind to the active zinc-containing site of the intracellular carbonic anhydrase; they then combine with CO2 to form HCO3- ions which are released back into the kidney cells and returned to the systemic circulation. Second, the dietary acid load is excreted by the secretion of H+ or proton ions from the kidney cells into the urine. These H+ or proton ions can do one of two things: the H+ or proton ions can be combined with the urinary buffers, particularly HPO4, in a process called titratable acidity (The biochemistry is: H+ + HPO4 = H2PO4), or the phosphate buffering system or the H+ or proton ions can combine with ammonia (NH3) to form ammonium as follows:
NH3 + H+ = NH4.

22) This ammonia is trapped and concentrated in the kidney as ammonium which is then excreted in the urine.

23) In response to acid load, 36% of the H+ or proton goes intracellular in exchange for the release of Na+ (sodium) into the blood stream. 15% of the acid goes intracellular in exchange for K+ (potassium) - common in diabetics. 6% of the H+ or proton or acid goes directly into the cell to be buffered by intracellular processes. 43% is buffered extracellularly as NaHCO3- or sodium bicarbonate combining with H+ or proton to form H2CO3 or carbonic acid which breaks down to CO2 or carbon dioxide to be released by the lungs. 10% of CO2 or carbon dioxide is excreted through the lungs and 90% is used by the body to reabsorb alkaline minerals and make sodium bicarbonate.
The biochemistry is: CO2 + H2O = H2CO3 = HCO3 + H+.

24) Of all the ways the body can buffer metabolic and dietary acids, the excretion of protein (the eating of steak) generated acid residues is the only process that does not add sodium bicarbonate back into blood circulation. This creates a loss of bases which is the forerunner of all sickness and disease. In the long run, the only way to replace these lost bases is by eating more alkaline electron-rich green foods and long-chain polyunsaturated fats. A cucumber a day keeps the doctor away - an apple creates more acid, leading to latent tissue acidosis.

25) The Human Body is an acid producing organism by function. Yet, it is an alkaline organism by design. Eating animal protein and sugar are deadly acidic choices - unless you want to be increasingly sick, tired and fat over time.

Preventing and Reversing Prostate Cancer

According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 186,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in the United States in 2008, while nearly 30,000 will die of the disease over the same period. A cancerous prostate is, therefore, the most common cancer that affects men, and the second most common cause of cancer-associated death (after lung cancer) in men.

Over the past decade, the long-term survival rate for a cancerous prostate has increased markedly, with more than 90 percent of patients surviving 10 years or more after diagnosis. The development of a blood test for prostate cancer, the PSA (prostate-specific antigen) test, has significantly improved our ability to detect a cancerous prostate at an early stage, which means that, increasingly, this dis-ease is being diagnosed when it is still amenable to reverse.

Biologically active compounds in pomegranat, known as ellagitannins, are known to have powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. These powerful dietary antioxidants are related, chemically, to the antioxidants also found in green tea (even though I do not recommend drinking green tea because it is moderately acidic), which is another area of intense focus in cancer prevention research.

Previous research studies looking at human prostate cancerous cells growing in cell cultures (and implanted in mice as well) have suggested potential cancer prevention and cancer treatment roles for pomegranate extracts. In a recently published clinical study, pomegranate supplements were found to slow down the progression of recurrent cancerous prostate in patients who had previously undergone treatment with surgery or radiation therapy. Moreover, when the serum of these patients was added to cell cultures containing human prostate cancerous cells, the serum collected after patients consumed pomegranate extracts slowed down the growth of the prostate cancerous cells.

A new research study, just published in the journal Molecular Cancer Therapeutics by scientists at UCLA, adds important new information about the possible role of pomegranate extracts in the prevention and treatment of a cancerous prostate.

Nuclear Factor Kappa-B, or NF-κB, consists of a group of proteins referred to, collectively, as transcription factors. Transcription factors act by activating multiple genes in both normal cells and cancerous cells (which are cells spoiled by metabolic and/or dietary acids). Activation of the NF-κB signaling pathway turns on a variety of genes that appear to play an important role in the development and progression of many cancerous cells, including cancerous or acidic prostate cells. NF-κB also has been implicated in the effects of chronic inflammation on the development of several cancerous conditions, including a cancerous prostate.

Moreover, activation of NF-κB also appears to enable cancerous cells to resist the effects of chemotherapy and other cancer treatments, and it appears to be linked with more aggressive tumor biology and a resulting increase in the risk of cancer recurrence.

While almost all prostate cancerous cells are initially sensitive to hormonal therapies that block the male sex acidic hormones (androgens), patients with advanced cancerous prostate who are treated with androgen-blocking agents will eventually develop prostate cancerous cells that are resistant (or androgen-independent) to such therapies. When metastatic cancerous prostate tumors become androgen-independent, these tumors then become unresponsive to most clinical therapies.

In this study, pomegranate extract was added to androgen-independent human prostate cancerous cells in the laboratory, resulting in an inhibition of NF-κB that was proportional to the amount of pomegranate extract that was added. This inhibition of the NF-κB pathway, which was induced by pomegranate extract, also resulted in a decreased rate of growth of the androgen-independent prostate cancerous cells, as well as an increased death rate among these cells.

When androgen-sensitive human prostate cancerous tumors are transplanted into mice, they gradually become androgen-independent, following castration of the mice. In this research study, the authors also implanted androgen-sensitive human prostate cancerous cells into laboratory mice. Some mice were given pomegranate extract, while other mice were not given any pomegranate supplements.

Subsequently, as the transplanted prostate cancerous cells began to grow into tumors, all mice were then castrated to induce androgen insensitivity in their implanted tumors. The authors subsequently found that the mice that had received pomegranate supplements developed significantly smaller tumors when compared to the mice that had not received pomegranate extract. Moreover, the development of androgen insensitive tumors was significantly delayed in the mice that had received the pomegranate supplement, suggesting that pomegranate extract may not only be able to shrink prostate cancerous tumors, but may also be able to maintain prostate cancerous cells in the more favorable androgen-sensitive state.

PSA levels in the blood of the mice that received the pomegranate extract were also significantly lower than what was observed in the control animals that did not receive the extract in their diets. All of these favorable effects that were observed in the mice that had received pomegranate extract appeared to be linked directly to an inhibition of the NF-κB signaling pathway.

The results of this study are highly intriguing, as they suggest that, at least in mice, pomegranate extracts may be able to slow prostate cancerous cell growth as well as significantly delaying the transition of prostate tumors from the more favorable androgen-sensitive state to the treatment-resistant androgen-insensitive state.

Because rising levels of NF-κB activity have previously been linked to the development of a cancerous prostate, as well as to the increased biological aggressiveness of prostate cancerous cells, the inhibition of NF-κB with pomegranate extracts could conceivably reduce the risk of developing a cancerous prostate and might also reduce the growth rate and aggressiveness of already established cancerous prostate.

Additionally, and importantly, the results of this study suggest that NF-κB itself probably plays a dominant role in the development of androgen independence in prostate cancerous tumors and, therefore, that blocking NF-κB with pomegranate extract may maintain metastatic prostate cancerous tumors in the more treatable androgen-sensitive state.

Although the results of this study cannot tell us if pomegranate extract is able to either prevent a cancerous prostate in humans or decrease its aggressiveness once it has already developed, there have been very few reports of any apparent serious ill affects associated with pomegranate extract consumption.

"The key to the cure for a cancerous prostate is found in its prevention not in its treatment," states Dr. Robert O. Young, Director of Research at the pH Miracle Living Center.

Dr. Young further states, "a cancer cell is an acidic cell and the cause of an acidic cancerous cell, including a cancerous prostate cell is an acidic lifestyle and diet."

The Cause of Weight Gain and Obesity

Eating or drinking the acid from fruit called fructose can induce leptin resistance, a condition that can easily lead to becoming over-acid and then overweight when combined with high animal fats, high-calorie diet, according to a new study with rats.

Although previous studies have shown that being leptin resistant can lead to rapid weight gain on a high-fat, high-caloric diet, this is the first study to show that leptin resistance can develop as a result of high acid fructose consumption. The study also showed for the first time that leptin resistance can develop silently, that is, with little indication that it is happening.

The study, "Fructose-induced leptin resistance exacerbates weight gain in response to subsequent high-fat feeding," was carried out by Alexandra Shapiro, Wei Mu, Carlos Roncal, Kit-Yan Cheng, Richard J. Johnson and Philip J. Scarpace, all at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. The study appears in the American Journal of Physiology - Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology, published by The American Physiological Society.

Leptin is an acidic hormone that is released when the body is trying to balance food intake with energy expenditure. When leptin isn't eliminated -- that is, when the body no longer responds to the acid leptin, it produces -- it's called leptin resistance. Leptin resistance is associated with weight gain and obesity in the face of a high acid, high-calorie diet.

Obesity or over-acidity has been a growing problem in the U.S. and in other parts of the world and fructose has been suspected of playing a role. Acidic fructose is the acid sugar found in fruit. Table sugar and high-fructose corn syrup are about 50% fructose and these ingredients have become increasingly common in many foods and beverages. With the acids of sugar and high-fructose corn syrup being added to many foods, people now eat much more fructose than ever before which is making them sick, tired and over-acid or fat.

The University of Florida researchers hypothesized that a high-fructose diet could lead to leptin resistance, which in turn could lead to exacerbated weight gain in the face of a high-fat, high-calorie diet, a typical diet in industrialized countries. To test their hypothesis, the research team performed a study with two groups of rats. They fed both groups the same diet, with one important exception: one group consumed a lot of fructose while the other received no fructose.

During these six months, there were no differences in food intake, body weight, and body fat between rats on the high-fructose and the rats on the fructose-free diets. In addition, there was no difference between the two groups in the levels of leptin, glucose, cholesterol or insulin found in their blood. There was only one difference at the end of the six months: The rats on the high-fructose diet had higher levels of the acid triglycerides in their blood.

The researchers next tested the animals to see if they were leptin resistant. They injected all the animals with leptin, to see if they would respond by eating less. Animals whose leptin response is functioning normally will lower their food intake. The researchers discovered that the rats on the high acid-fructose diet were leptin resistant, that is, they did not lower their food intake when given leptin. The no-fructose animals responded normally to leptin by eating less.

This first six months of the study showed that leptin resistance can develop silently. "Usually, leptin resistance is associated with obesity, but in this case, leptin resistance developed without obesity," Shapiro said. "This was very surprising."

Having seen that leptin resistance could develop silently, the researchers next wanted to find out what would happen if they switched the rats to a high animal-fat, high-calorie diet -- the kind many Americans eat. They found that the animals exposed to the high acid-fructose diet, the leptin resistant rats, ate more and gained much more weight and fat than the leptin responsive animals on the fructose-free diet. All told, this study showed that leptin resistance can:

1) develop by eating a lot of the high acid-fructose

2) develop silently, that is, with very little indication it is happening

3) result in weight gain when paired with a high animalfat, calorie dense diet

Scarpace said the study suggests it is the interaction between consumption of large amounts of high acid-fructose-containing foods and eating a high animal-fat, high-calorie diet that produces the weight gain. "This study may explain how the global increase in fructose consumption is related to the current obesity epidemic," Shapiro said.

According to Dr. Robert O. Young, Director of Research at the pH Miracle Living Center, "fructose is an acid from fruit and is toxic to the body. The body will attempt to eliminated the fructose through urination, defecation, and/or perspiration. If the fructose is not eliminated it is taken up into the colloidal connective tissue, the extra cellular matrix and then the fatty tissues. This can lead to connective tissue disorders and weight gain. The body will always force acid (including fructose) out of the blood into the fatty tissues to protect the organs that sustain life. The body retains fat as a buffer for excess metabolic and dietary acid that is not being properly eliminated. This is the cause of weight gain and obesity."

Cancer Is A Four Letter Word - ACID

Most of us are going to be surprised to find out that there is an
oncologist in Rome Italy, Dr. Tullio Simoncini, eliminating cancer tumors with sodium bicarbonate.

Sodium bicarbonate is safe, extremely inexpensive and unstopably effective when it comes to cancerous tissues. Its an irresistible chemical, cyanide to cancerous cells for it hits the cancerous cells with a shock wave of alkalinity, which allows much more oxygen into the cancer cells than they can tolerate.

Cancerous cells cannot survive in the presence of high levels of oxygen. Sodium bicarbonate is, for all intent and purposes, an instant eliminator of tumor formations. Full treatment takes only days, as does another cancer treatment that heats the cancer cells with laser generated heat.

The extracellular(interstitial) pH (pHe) of solid tumors is
significantly more acidic compared to normal tissues.

Case one: A patient diagnosed with pulmonary neoplasm of the lung, underwent treatment with sodium bicarbonate, before submitting to surgery to remove part of the lung. Treatment consisted of sodium bicarbonate administered orally, by aerosol, and IV. After first treatment reduction of nodules and absorption was evident, and after 8 months was no longer visible at all. Treatments also reduced size of the liver and results were confirmed by both X-ray and CAT scan.

Studies have shown how manipulation of tumor pH with sodium
bicarbonate enhances some forms of chemotherapy. Proteins can be
modified both in vivo and in vitro by increases in acidity. In fact pH is the regulatory authority that controls most cellular processes.

The pH balance of the human bloodstream is recognized by medical
physiology texts as one of the most important biochemical balances in all of human body chemistry. pH is the acronym for "Potential Hydrogen". In definition, it is the degree of concentration of hydrogen ions in a substance or solution. It is measured on a logarithmic scale from 0 to 14. Higher numbers mean a substance is more alkaline in nature and there is a greater potential for absorbing more hydrogen ions. Lower numbers indicate more acidity with less potential for absorbing hydrogen ions.

Our body pH is very important because pH controls the speed of our body's biochemical reactions. It does this by controlling the speed of electrical activity as well as the speed that electricity moves through our body. The higher (more alkaline) the pH of a substance or solution, the more electrical resistance that substance or solution holds. Therefore, electricity travels slower with higher pH. If we say something has an acid pH, we are saying it is hot and fast. Ân alkaline pH on the other hand, biochemically speaking, is slow and cool. Cancer tissues have a much higher concentration of toxic acidic chemicals, pesticides, etc then do healthy tissues.

In 1973, a study conducted by the Department of Occupational Health at Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem found that when cancerous breast tissue is compared with non-cancerous tissue from elsewhere in the same woman's body, the concentration of toxic acidic chemicals such as DDT and PCBs was "much increased in the malignant tissue compared to the normal breast and adjacent adipose tissue." This should say something to the oncologists of the world about chemical etiologies that are going undiagnosed and untreated.

Part of any successful cancerous protocol includes chelation and
detoxification of heavy metals and a host of toxic chemicals, which are all invading our bodies everyday. It is literally raining mercury, uranium contamination is increasing, lead we are discovering is even more toxic than anyone ever believed and is even in the bread that we eat arsenic is in our chicken, the government still wants you to get your yearly mercury flu shot, dentists of course are still using hundreds of tons of mercury exposing patients to internalized toxic waste dumps (mercury vapors), and fluoride is still put in the water. This just
covers a small slice of the toxic acidic disaster that is the hallmark of life in the 21st century. But oncologists have just not been able to understand that patients with a cancerous condition are suffering from acid poisoning on a massive scale with all the chemicals scientists have already established that cause a cancerous condition in the first place.

The pH Miracle Center recommends alkaline foods, drinks and sodium bicarbonate so that the pH of the blood remains high, which in turn means that the blood is capable of carrying more oxygen. This in turn keeps every cell in the body at peak efficiency and helps the cell eliminate waste products.

Detoxification and chelation will proceed more easily and safely
under slightly alkaline conditions. Increased urinary pH reduces
oxidative stress in the kidney so it behooves us to work clinically with sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium bicarbonate.

Patients receiving sodium, magnesium, potassium, and calcium bicarbonate achieved urine pH of 8.5 as opposed to 5.6 with those receiving sodium chloride. This alkalinization is theorized to have a protective effect against the formation of metabolic and dietary acids that may cause nephropathy.

Body pH level changes are intense in the profundity of their
biological effects. Even genes directly experience external pH. pH differentially regulates a large number of proteins. Increased
oxidative stress, which correlates almost exponentially with pH
changes into the acidic, is especially dangerous to the mitochondria, which suffer the greatest under oxidative duress. Epigenetics, which may now have begun eclipsing traditional genetics, commonly describes how factors such as diet and smoking, rather than inheritance influence how genes behave.

The great advantage of knowing the prime cause of a disease is that it can then be attacked logically and over a broad front.

Dr. Otto Warburg

Dr. Otto Warburg, two times Nobel Prize winner, stated in his book, The Metabolism of Tumors that the primary cause of cancer was the replacement of oxygen in the respiratory cell chemistry by the fermentation of sugar. The growth of cancer cells is initiated by a fermentation process, which can be triggered only in the absence of oxygen at the cell level. What Warburg was describing was a classic picture of acidic conditions. Just like overworked muscle cells manufacture lactic acid by-products as waste. Cancerous cells spill lactic acid and other acidic compounds causing an acidic fluid pH.

After we just saw how important sulfur is in human health and how
useful a basic chemical like sodium thiosulfate can be, we now get a crash course in the power of sodium bicarbonate and the act of instantly turning cancerous cells alkaline. Might as well shoot a guided cruise missile at them - so effective, safe, quick and precise is sodium bicarbonate, inexpensive as well. Just a few pennies a day of it will keep cancer further away, keeping it at arms length from ourselves, patients and loved ones. It is something we can use to treat our water with as well, excellent to put in distilled or reverse osmosis water or any water for that matter.

A true understanding of any cancerous condition is impossible without understanding why some tissues in the body are deficient in oxygen and therefore prone to fermentation. Cancerous tissues are acidic, whereas healthy tissues are alkaline. Water (H2O) decomposes into H+ and OH-. When a solution contains more H+ than OH- then it is said to be acid. When it contains more OH- than H+ then it is said to be alkaline. When oxygen enters an acid solution it can combine with H+ ions to form water. Oxygen helps to neutralize the acid, while at the same time the acid prevents oxygen from reaching the tissues that need it. Acidic tissues are devoid of free oxygen. An alkaline solution is just the reverse. Two hydroxyl ions (OH-) can combine to produce one water molecule and one oxygen atom. In other words, an alkaline solution can provide oxygen to the tissues.

The pH scale goes from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. Below 7 is acid and above 7 is alkaline. The blood, lymph and cerebral spinal fluid in the human body are designed to be slightly alkaline at a pH of 7.365.

At a pH slightly above 7.365 cancerous cells become dormant and at pH 8.5 cancerous cells will die while healthy cells will live. This has given rise to a variety of treatments based on increasing the alkalinity of the tissues such as the pH Miracle Living diet, the drinking of fresh fruit and vegetable juices, and dietary supplementation with alkaline minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, caesium and rubidium. But
nothing can compare to the instant alkalinizing power of sodium, magnesium, potassium and calcium bicarbonate for safe and effective reversal of cancerous tissue.

Like magnesium chloride or sulphates are excellent emergency
medicines, basic chemicals, nutritional in nature, sodium bicarbonate is a nutritional medicine meaning it cannot and will not end up controlled by CODEX. To control bicarbonate they would have to demand mothers stop making cake with it. We might thus identify sodium bicarbonate as an emergency medicine for cancerous conditions with the above supporting approaches working on broader levels to help overall physiology change to a degree where body chemistry is unfavorable for new cancerous growth.

Cancer seems to grow slowly in a highly acid environment (because the acids cause it to partially destroy itself) and may actually grow more quickly as your body becomes more alkaline prior to reaching the healthy pH slightly above 7.4 where the cancerous tissue becomes dormant.

Therefore it is important to get pH above 7.4 quickly. Once one has achieved a pH above 7.4, it is useful to monitor saliva pH regularly to ensure that the body remains sufficiently alkaline.

Earlier and more frequent use of sodium bicarbonate was associated with higher early resuscitability rates and with better long-term neurological outcome. Sodium bicarbonate is beneficial during CPR.

"The therapeutic treatment of bicarbonate salts can be administered orally, through aerosol, intravenously and through catheter for direct targeting of tumors. All of Dr. Tullio Simoncinis treatments with sodium bicarbonate are directed as specifically as possible to the organs involved, for example, vaginally as well as abdominally into the peritoneal space for cervical cancer, through the hepatic artery for liver cancer in order to get the solution as close to the affected area as possible. Sodium bicarbonate administered orally, via aerosol or intravenously can achieve positive results in most tumors, including the brain, while others, such as the serious ones
of the bones can remain unaffected. Dr. Simoncini, with the help of interventionist radiologists was able to reach those areas of the body that had previously been inaccessible. This was achieved through positioning appropriate catheters either in cavities for peritoneum and pleura, or in arteries to reach other organs.

The most effective measure to treat RT-induced mucositis in patients with head and neck cancer is frequent oral rinsing with a sodium bicarbonate rinse, to reduce the amount of oral microbial flora.

Case two: A nine-year-old child is hospitalized and diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma on the right humerus. Despite several chemotherapy cycles surgery removed the humeral bone. Growth of three tumor masses continued despite continued efforts to stop progression. Sodium bicarbonate salts treatment were then started administered by catheter into the right sub-clavian artery in order to administer the salts (phleboclysis of 500 cc at five per cent) directly on the tumoral masses. Of the 3 masses shown by the scographic scan of May 7, 2001, whose size is respectively:

a. 6,5 cm
b. 4,4 cm
c. 2,4 cm

After the sodium bicarbonate salts treatment only one tumor was left, with a size of only 1.5 cm, which is most likely residual scarring, as shown by the echography of September 10, 2001.

Sodium bicarbonate injection is also indicated in the treatment of metabolic acidosis which may occur in severe renal disease,
uncontrolled diabetes, and circulatory insufficiency due to shock or severe dehydration, extracorporeal circulation of blood, cardiac arrest and severe primary lactic acidosis. Sodium bicarbonate is further indicated in the treatment of drug intoxications, including barbiturates. Sodium carbonate has been found effective in treating poisoning or overdose from many chemicals and pharmaceutical drugs by negating the cardiotoxic and neurotoxic effects. Sodium bicarbonate is useful in treating neurological disorders in children.

An extremely simple therapy used by physicians who treat autism is to supply a mild antidote that neutralizes the excess acids. The most convenient product is a non-prescription drug called Alka-Seltzer Gold. Do not use any other kind of Alka-Seltzer. Alka-Seltzer Gold, is simply a very safe product (sodium and potassium bicarbonate) that helps to neutralize excess acids of any kind.

Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD

One mother wrote, that it worked so well for both of my children that the die-off was an uneventful experience, even though they both had very high levels of yeast. The restoring of acid/alkaline balance also relieves many allergies. These children also had grave disturbances in electrolyte chemistry, and tended to be acidotic (low CO). The data that unfolded was fascinating and clearly earmarked the acidosis and hypoxic state (low serum bicarbonate = low O2 levels).

Potassium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, magnesium carbonate and the like were used. Now we began to understand why so many children responded to Buffered C (potassium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate), and others needed a more specific buffer (in some children for example niacin was grossly depleted and they required niacin bicarbonate), wrote Patricia Kane.

The acid/alkaline balance is one of the most overlooked aspects of health, though many have written much about it. In general, the American public is heavily acid, excepting a few vegetarians.

Case three: A 62-year-old patient undergoes surgery in December 1998 for endometrial adenocarcinoma, followed by successive cycles of radiotherapy and anti-hormone therapy. Following the thickening of the peritoneum and the growth of several lymph nodes due to carcinosis; from the clinical point of view, the patients condition decayed with the presence of exhaustion, general swelling, intestinal meteorism, irregularity of evacuation, steady feeling of heaviness and blood pressure instability. Treatment with a 5% sodium bicarbonate solution administered alternately through an endoperitoneal catheter and via IV showed rapid improvement to a normal condition of health. A final CAT scan confirms the regression of the peritoneal
carcinosis and a stabilization of the size of the lymph nodes when compared to the preceding year.

The kidneys are usually the first organs to show chemical damage upon uranium exposure, military manuals suggest doses or infusions of sodium bicarbonate to help alkalinize the urine if this happens. This makes the uranyl ion less kidney-toxic and promotes excretion of the non-toxic uranium-carbonate complex. The oral administration of sodium bicarbonate diminishes the severity of the changes produced by uranium in the kidneys.

Case four: A 40-year-old patient underwent surgical intervention
(left radical mastectomy) for mammary carcinoma seven months
earlier. After three months of chemotherapy, the patient is affected by: diffused pulmonary and hepatic metastasis; bone metastasis particularly to the fifth and sixth lumbar vertebrae, with invasion and compression of the medullar channel, which is causing extreme pain which makes the patient unresponsive to any treatment. All pain suppressant drugs " morphine included " are totally ineffective and the patient is totally prostrate even unable to sleep. Believing that fungal colonies amassed in the medullar channel will respond to administration of sodium bicarbonate salts, lumbar injections are begun.

Dr Tullio Simoncini recounts: As I administer it by slowly injecting 50 cc of sodium bicarbonate solution at 8.4 %, the patient tosses and with a thread of a voice confesses to me that she has slept only two hours in the last week. Exhausted, she whispers to me: If only I could sleep half an hour tonight. But the day after, she calls me on the phone and says: I have slept all night. After two more lumbar injections of the bicarbonate salts in the next month, the pain disappeared completely. Magnetic Resonance imaging reports performed before and after treatment were defined by hospital head of the radiology department as "shocking."

Sodium bicarbonate is the chemical compound with the formula NaHCO3. Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is commonly used as an antacid for short-term relief of stomach upset, to correct acidosis in kidney disorders, to make the urine alkaline during bladder infections and to minimize uric acid crystallization during gout treatment. Prescription sodium bicarbonate products are given by injection to treat metabolic acidosis and some drug intoxications. Sodium bicarbonate is available as a non-prescription medical as well as a general house hold item. It is also used with other non-prescription drugs for short-term treatment of various conditions to treat anything from fever to moderate pain.

Sodium bicarbonate possesses the property of absorbing heavy metals, dioxins and furans. Comparison of cancer tissue with healthy tissue from the same person shows that the cancer tissue has a much higher concentration of toxic chemicals, pesticides, etc. Sodium bicarbonate neutralizes acids present in gases (in particular hydrochloric acid, sulphur dioxide, hydrofluoric acid) to form sodium salts (sodium chloride, sodium sulphate, sodium fluoride, sodium carbonate), which are all known as Residual Sodium Chemicals. Sodium bicarbonate can be made into a paste salve with vinegar, it relieves burning from bug stings (particularly bee stings), poison ivy, nettles, and sunburn.
It is used as an antacid to treat acid indigestion and heartburn.
Mixed with water in a 10% solution can soften earwax for removal.

Substituting a sodium bicarbonate solution for saline infusion prior to administration of radio-contrast material seems to reduce the incidence of nephropathy.

Because sodium bicarbonate has long been known and is widely used, it has many other names including sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, baking soda, bread soda, cooking soda, bicarb soda, saleratus or bicarbonate of soda. It is soluble in water. This white solid is crystalline but often appears as a fine powder. It has a slight alkaline taste resembling that of sodium carbonate. It is a component
of the mineral natron and is found dissolved in many mineral springs. It is also produced artificially. World wide production is on the scale of 100,000 ton/year. Sodium bicarbonate is primarily used in cooking (baking) where it reacts with other components to release carbon dioxide, that helps dough "rise."

It is commonly used to increase the pH and total alkalinity of the water for pools and spas. Sodium bicarbonate can be added as a simple solution for restoring the pH balance of water that has a high level of chlorine. It is sometimes used in septic tanks to control pH and bacteria.

Sodium bicarbonate-rich mineral water in conjunction with a healthy mineral salt diet may have a beneficial effect on calcium homeostasis.

Distilled water is not safe, it lacks bicarbonates and minerals and yes, it is acid forming to the body. Yet it is an excellent aid in detoxification and chelation for its purity pulls on toxicities in the body. Part of the reason why our body is acid is that it lacks enough bicarbonate necessary to neutralize metabolic and dietary acids. Whenever the water lacks the proper bicarbonates to neutralize the water in distilled water your body basically becomes a little more acid. But we can easily treat distilled or reverse osmosis water by adding bicarbonate and magnesium and perhaps even some sodium thiosulfate.

pH of the blood is the most important factor to determine the state of the micro-organisms in the blood.

The native chemical and physical properties of sodium bicarbonate
account for its wide range of applications, including cleaning,
deodorizing, buffering, and fire extinguishing. Sodium bicarbonate neutralizes odours chemically, rather than masking or absorbing them. Consequently, it is used in bath salts and deodorant body powders. Sodium bicarbonate tends to maintain a pH of 8.1 (7 is neutral) even when acids, which lower pH, or bases, which raise pH, are added to the solution. Its ability to tabletize makes it a good effervescent ingredient in antacids and denture cleaning products. Sodium bicarbonate is also found in some anti-plaque mouthwash products and toothpaste.

Sodium bicarbonate also is indicated in severe diarrhoea which is
often accompanied by a significant loss of bicarbonate. Vigorous
bicarbonate therapy is required in any form of metabolic acidosis
where a rapid increase in plasma total CO2 content is crucial e.g. cardiac arrest, circulatory insufficiency due to shock or severe dehydration , and in severe primary lactic acidosis or severe diabetic acidosis.

Sodium Bicarbonate Injection, USP is administered by the intravenous route. In cardiac arrest, a rapid intravenous dose of one to two 50 mL vials (44.6 to 100 mEq) may be given initially and continued at a rate of 50 mL (44.6 to 50 mEq) every 5 to 10 minutes if necessary (as indicated by arterial pH and blood gas monitoring) to reverse the acidosis. Caution should be observed in emergencies where very rapid infusion of large quantities of bicarbonate is indicated. Bicarbonate solutions are hypertonic and may produce an undesirable rise in plasma sodium concentration in the process of correcting the metabolic acidosis. In cardiac arrest, however, the risks from acidosis exceed those of hypernatremia.

In the current system, if a promising compound can't be patented, it is highly unlikely ever to make it to market no matter how well it performs in the laboratory or in emergency room situations. The hormone melatonin, sold as an inexpensive food supplement in the United States, has repeatedly been shown to slow the growth of various cancers when used in conjunction with conventional treatments. Dr. Paolo Lissoni, another Italian oncologist has written many articles about this hormone and conducted clinical trials. But he has despaired over the pharmaceutical industry total lack of interest in his treatment approach.

We need a new approach to fight cancerous conditions, one that will work safely and effectively since the majority of us are now destined to have to suffer through cancer at one point or another in our lives. The situation in the field of oncology is horrendous and in the area of childhood oncology they have earned their place in the book The Terror of Paediatric Medicine, (which one can download as a free e-book.)

Most people today cringe at the idea of finding a cancer then
slashing, burning and poisoning it to smithereens. Most would agree that the mainstream cancer approach offers only marginal benefits at best, and providers push screening and aggressive treatment in part because they have nothing else to give, and also because it is very profitable.

If the body's cellular metabolism and pH is balanced it is
susceptible to little illness or disease.

Since 1971, when President Nixon declared war on cancer, the budget of the National Cancer Institute has increased to $4.8 billion from half a billion and cancer rates are still going up. For most of the past half-century, medical treatment of invasive tumors like those of the breast and colon has relied mainly on drugs, radiation or both, in effect carpet-bombing the DNA of cancer cells. These highly toxic treatments do not address the root causes of cancer and are extremely dangerous, medical approaches involving the highest risks.

The great variety of cancers must reflect a fundamental mechanism by which the disease arises, one that has not been so clearly apparent until now.

Though allopathic medicine already uses sodium bicarbonate it will not any day soon turn to its own arsenal of already available safe and inexpensive medications like sodium bicarbonate or magnesium chloride. The medical industrial complex seems unwilling to change its views on cancer so patients will need to quietly ask their doctors for intravenous bicarbonate without specifying it as a substance they want to use to cure their cancer. It will be easier to find someone if one approaches with a need to treat acidic conditions than the actual cancerous condition. Few doctors are willing to risk their licenses so it is better not to put them in an uncomfortable situation that they cannot control.

The closer the pH is to 7.35 - 7.45, the higher our level of health and well being and our ability to resist states of disease.

Sadly this does not address the need for the use of catheters which target tumors more directly thus pushing us toward a more complete protocol that will target cancerous conditions in a more general and comprehensive way. This needs to be done anyway because eliminating the tumor with a rush of alkalinity that provokes an oxygen rush into the cells will not prevent the condition from reoccurring. Though we can think that acidity is a basic cause of any cancerous condition a more basic cause is addressed when we look at what leads to the acidic conditions that are so prevalent in our bodies today.

Sodium bicarbonate is an anti-fungal substance that is very
diffusible and thus very effective.

Dr Tullio Simoncini says, "It is useful to consider the extreme
sensitivity of fungi to saline and electrolytic solutions. These
solutions, because of their extreme capacity for diffusion, are able to reach all the mycelial biological expressions, including the most infinitesimal ones. Salts and bicarbonates, by making the "terrain" completely inorganic, eliminates the slightest organic fonts that fungi could use for nourishment. In this context, sodium bicarbonate, which is currently used in children's oral candidiasis, appears to be a simple and handy weapon capable of uprooting, inhibiting, or attenuating any neoplastic formation wherever it is possible to easily apply it."

According to Dr. Robert O. Young, Director of Research at The
pH Miracle Living Center, "cancer is a four-letter word, ACID,
especially lactic acid as a waste product due to the low oxygen levels during metabolism."

For centuries, medicated baths have been one of the first lines of treatment for psoriasis. Even today, with sophisticated
immunosuppressive treatments available, Dead Sea salts and spa waters are recognized to be beneficial in the management of psoriatic patients.

To assess statistically the efficacy of sodium bicarbonate baths in psoriasis patients, thirty-one patients with mild-moderate psoriasis were studied. Almost all patients who used sodium bicarbonate reported a statistically valuable improvement. Sodium bicarbonate baths reduced itchiness and irritation; in general, the patients themselves recognized a beneficial impact on their psoriasis, so much so that they have continued to bathe in sodium bicarbonate even after the end of the study.

"Sodium bicarbonate therapy is harmless, fast and effective because it is extremely diffusible. A therapy with bicarbonate for cancer should be set up with strong dosage, continuously, and with pauseless cycles in a destruction work which should proceed from the beginning to the end without interruption for at least 7-8 days. In general a mass of 2-3-4 centimetres will begin to consistently regress from the third to the fourth day, and collapses from the fourth to the fifth.

Generally speaking, the maximum limit of the dosage that can be
administered in a session gravitates around 500 cc of sodium
bicarbonate at five per cent solution, with the possibility of
increasing or decreasing the dosage by 20 per cent in function of the body mass of the individual to be treated and in the presence of multiple localizations upon which to apportion a greater quantity of salts," instructs Dr Simoncini.

In the early stages of acidic pH in the body's tissues, the warning symptoms are mild. These include such things as skin eruptions, headaches, allergies, colds, flu and sinus problems. These symptoms are frequently resolved (manipulated) with high pH water, chlorophyll and other alkalizing nutrients. The longer and the deeper we become acidic the more our illness takes hold so it's best to fight acidic conditions early on and in every presenting clinical situation. Certainly a highly toxic drug like anti-viral Tamiflu won't do a fraction of the job sodium bicarbonate will do especially if it's combined with magnesium chloride and iodine as well as high levels of magnesium oxide.
