Black Raspherries Transform Cancerous Cells

Researchers at the University of
Pittsburgh found that the pigmentation
chemical in grapes that gives grape
skins their color biologically transforms
human cancerous cells while leaving healthy
cells intact. The compound, an antioxidant
that occurs naturally in fruits and vegetables,
is a type of proanthocyanidin, an antioxidant
common in plants.

Scientists knew that proanthocyanidins had
cancer-fighting properties and decided to focus
on one of the most common types, cyanidin-3-rutinoside
(C-3-R). Although it is abundant in grape skins
and pine bark, scientists used C-3-R purified
from black raspberries and tested it on several
lines of human leukemia cells. They repeated the
test using human lymphoma cells.

At low doses of C-3-R, half of the cancerous cells
in all lines died within 18 hours. When the dose
was more than doubled, all of the cancerous cells
died within 18 hours. Researchers repeated the
experiment several times using different types of
leukemia cells and got similar results.

When treated with C-3-R, cancerous cells produced
peroxides, a type of free radical (hydorgen ions)
that caused them to die. But when C-3-R was used
on normal human blood cells, the production of
peroxides wasn't increased and there appeared to
be no toxic effects.

"Common treatments for leukemia, such as chemotherapy
and radiation, will damage healthy cells and tissues
and can produce unwanted side effects for many years
afterward," said Dr. Xiao-Ming Yin, an associate
professor of pathology at the University of Pittsburg
School of Medicine. "So there is an intensive search
for more targeted therapies for leukemia worldwide.

"If we can reproduce these anticancer effects in
animal studies," Yin said, "this will present a very
promising approach for treating a variety of human
leukemias and, perhaps, lymphomas as well."

According to the National Cancer Institute,
approximately 44,000 new leukemia cases will be
diagnosed this year in the United States, and
about 22,000 people will die from the dis-ease
needlessly. Especially when the most powerful
antioxidant is now available - Glutathione.

Over the past thirty years, researchers have
explored the role of antioxidants in good health
as well as the treatment and prevention of diseases
involving oxidation or fermentation by metabolic
acids.

Well known and widely used antioxidants such as
vitamin A, vitamin E and selenium neutralize acid.

Alcohol May Cause Breast and/or Endometrial Cancer

Postmenopausal women consuming two or more alcoholic
beverages a day may double their risk of endometrial
cancer, suggests a study led by researchers at the
University of Southern California (USC). The study
will appear in the International Journal of Cancer,
and is now available online.

"This is the first prospective study to report a
significant association between alcohol and
endometrial cancer," says Veronica Wendy Setiawan,
assistant professor of preventive medicine at the
Keck School of Medicine of USC. "Previous studies
have shown that alcohol consumption has been
associated with higher levels of estrogens in
postmenopausal women, which could be the mechanism
by which daily alcohol intake increases one's risk
of endometrial cancer."

According to the National Cancer Institute,
endometrial cancer is the most common cancer of
the female reproductive system. It accounts for
approximately six percent of all cancers in women.

"It's important for women, especially postmenopausal
women, to know and understand the consequences of
high alcohol consumption. It does not affect just
the liver, but alcohol has been associated with breast
cancer and now endometrial cancer," continues Setiawan.

Researchers drew upon data from the Multiethnic Cohort
Study (MEC), an epidemiological study of more than
215,000 people from Los Angeles and Hawaii created
in 1993 by Brian Henderson, M.D., dean of the Keck
School of Medicine of USC, and Laurence Kolonel, M.D., Ph.D.
of the University of Hawaii.

The study followed 41,574 postmenopausal African-American,
Japanese-American, Latina, Native-Hawaiian and White
women in Los Angeles and Hawaii for an average of 8 years.
Data on alcohol intake and endometrial cancer risk factors
were obtained from a baseline questionnaire.

"This discovery is important as it suggests that changes
to certain lifestyle choices may potentially help alter
risk of the disease," says Henderson, the paper's senior
author. "However, these findings are preliminary and must
be investigated further before any recommendations about
alcohol consumption can be made."

The study also found that the association of alcohol
intake and endometrial cancer is stronger among lean
women than among overweight or obese postmenopausal
women.

According to Dr. Robert O. Young, a research
microbiologist, "alcohol in overweight women is parked
in their fatty tissues to protect the organs that
sustain life. Lean or under weight women do not have
the excess fatty tissues to park the acidic alcohol so
the alcohol is left to break down healthy organs, like
the breasts or reproductive organs or the filter organs
like the liver, lungs and skin."

"Our data suggest that lean women may be more sensitive to
modest elevations in acidic hormone levels resulting from
alcohol drinking than obese women who already have high
levels of estrogen and therefore mask alcohol as an
independent risk factor," concludes Setiawan. "Again,
this is all preliminary and more studies with sufficient
numbers of heavy drinkers are needed to corroborate our
finding."

The best advise to protect the alkaline design of

acidic drink and especially those that contain the
acid, alcohol.

"Alcohol is a metabolite of acetyl aldehyde and acetyl
aldehyde is a metabolite of sugar which are all acidic
poison to the body," states Dr. Young.

that can cause breast, brain, liver and endometrial

The True Cure for Cancer

The following is an incredible cancer

Dear Friends:

As most of you know, I was diagnosed with an
aggressive form of bladder cancer in 2005.
Until recently, I was working with doctors to
treat this disease. It's now over 2 years
later and I am no better off than I was

Is "Body Warming" Trashing Your Body?

The following article appeared in the Toledo Free
Press by Diana Patton on how we create "global
warming" or "Acid Rain" from within the body.

We've all heard of global warming. Its premise is
that the build-up of trash and waste we generate
produces toxic gas that is causing the Earth's
atmosphere to deteriorate — which is literally
heating up the Earth.

What you may not know is that something quite
similar happens when trash and waste build up
in your body. Toxic acidic fluid forms, causing
your body to deteriorate — leaving the body
chronically sick, tired and diseased.

I've coined a new term to describe the phenomenon:
“body warming.”

Dr. Robert O. Young, microbiologist, scientist,
nutritionist and author of “The pH Miracle” and
“The pH Miracle for Weight Loss,” has studied the
human body at the cellular level for more than 25 years.
The premise of Young's work is the human body must
remain in balance in order to thrive. The balance he's
referring to is your pH balance; pH means
“potential for hydrogen.”

Your body is 70 percent water. Young says, to be
in optimal pH balance, the fluid within your body
(your blood) should test at 7.365, to maintain
a healthy alkaline/acid balance.

Think of pH imbalance as your own personal form
of acid rain. But instead of damaging Earth's soil
and lakes and, eventually, the fish, trees and plants
that thrive in them, pH imbalance damages your
internal “environment.” That's why I call it
“body warming.”

If you are too acidic over time, your immune system
becomes severely sluggish. Your endocrine system gets

and your bones become brittle. If this acidic state
continues, the result is chronic disease, even death.
How do we get to a state of body warming?

- Too much stress and negative thinking. If you are
very stressed and “feed” yourself a steady diet of
negative thoughts, you will eventually produce
massive quantities of acidic trash and waste in your
body. In turn, they produce the toxic “liquid” called
acid.

Dr. Young says negative emotions are capable of creating
two to three times more tissue acidity than foods or
liquids we consume. Tissue acidity results in sickness
and disease or dis-ease.

- A reversed way of living and eating. Dr. Young suggests
we are polluting our bodies with too many acid-producing
activities, among them smoking and drinking too much
alcohol. We also produce acid because of our excessive
intake of acid-producing foods, such as dairy products,
sugar, animal protein, processed grains and junk food.
And, finally, Dr. Young says we lack activity and
exercise. Over time, all these factors add up to produce
the toxic liquid called acidity, causing "body warming."

But not all is lost. Just as proponents of "global warming"
“go green,” we can “go green” to counter body warming.
Here are five easy-to-stick-with tips to help you
achieve pH balance and enjoy better health:

1. Change the way you think. List a half-dozen past
experiences that brought you happiness, joy and/or
excitement. When negative thoughts arise, think of
those past experiences. In addition, incorporate
more prayer and/or meditation into your life.

2. Try a simple detoxification plan and increase
activity. By detoxification, I mean temporarily
remove certain foods that cause acid build-up, and
sweat enough to release your body's toxins. For example,
replace pasta or bread with extra broccoli portions
for 10 days. Increase your activity by devoting 30
minutes a day to build up a sweat; try 10 minute
intervals of a brisk walk, jog, a moderate walk or
whole body vibrational exercising.

The Haas Avocado May Help To Prevent Cancer

Nutrients taken from avocados are able to thwart
oral cancerous cells, transforming some and
preventing pre-cancerous cells or fermenting cells
from dietary and/or metabolic acids from developing
into actual cancerous cells, according to researchers
at Ohio State University.

Researchers found that extracts from Hass avocados kill
or stop the growth of pre-cancerous cells that lead to
oral cancer. Hass avocados are year-round fruits known
for their distinctive bumpy skin that turns from green
to purplish-black as they ripen.

While there are more than 500 varieties of avocados
grown worldwide, Hass avocados are the most readily
available at supermarkets nationwide. Similar research
has not been conducted on other varieties of avocados.

The findings are published online in the Journal
Seminars in Cancer Biology.

Studies have long associated the consumption of fruits
and vegetables with a reduced risk for various types
of human medically diagnosed cancer. The protective
effect is attributed to the high levels of phytonutrients
or phytochemicals — plant compounds thought to
have health-protecting qualities — that are often
found in dark colored fruits and vegetables.

“As far as we know, this is the first study of avocados
and oral cancer,” says D’Ambrosio. “We think these
phytochemicals either stop the growth of precancerous
cells in the body or they kill the precancerous cells
without affecting normal cells. Our study focuses on
oral cancer, but the findings might have implications
for other types of cancer. These are preliminary
findings, and more research is needed.”

D’Ambrosio, who collaborated with researchers in
Ohio State’s College of Pharmacy, found that
phytochemicals extracted from avocados target
multiple signaling pathways and increase the amount
of reactive oxygen within the cells, leading to
cell transformation in pre-cancerous cell lines.

“These studies suggest that individual and a combination
of phytochemicals from the avocado fruit may offer
an advantageous dietary strategy in cancer prevention,”
says Ding, who is a member of the division of
radiobiology, department of radiology.

Avocados are chock-full of beneficial antioxidants
and phytonutrients, including glutathione, folate,
vitamin E, fiber and unsaturated fats. They are
naturally sodium-free, contain no trans fats and
are low in saturated fat, making them a healthy
addition to any diet, D’Ambrosio says.

“The future is ripe for identifying fruits and
vegetables and individual phytonutrients with
cancer preventing activity,” writes D’Ambrosio
in the journal’s editorial. “As we identify the
molecular mechanisms and targets by which
individual phytonutrients prevent cancer, we may
be able to improve upon nature by formulating
phytonutrient cocktails for specific cancers
and individual susceptibility and risk.”

Other Ohio State researchers involved in the study
are Young-Won Chin in the College of Pharmacy and
A. Douglas Kinghorn in the Comprehensive Cancer
Center.

'Fight' versus 'Let It Unfold'

Over the last twenty-five years of researching and
teaching the "New Biology" and "The pH Miracle Living
Science, Lifestyle and Diet", I have given great
thought over the process of trying to "merge"
the seemingly divergent "fight" versus the
"let it unfold" postures.

I believe we are creatures of both action on one
end and potential wisdom on the other. The lower
end of consciousness, the body-sense issues, operate
in one "desiring and acquiring" fashion and the
intellect-spirit end of the continuum operates at
a "higher level." Much like a pH scale.

With our body/sense/mind gifts we are bound and
determined to act. That's the fight part. If we
act, however, with discrimination, spirit and wisdom,
we are following the dictates of our conscience.

The wisdom one day will suggest that we are not the
doers. We are simply the instruments--and the locus
of act....not the locus of control.

Thus, we do the fight, we do the action, but we must
do it according to that level of wisdom with which we
have been accorded. Once we use our intellectual-
spiritual gifts as we live, i.e., once we ACT with
such primary human values as love, peace, truth,
right conduct and non-violence as we walk along the
path, we are harmonizing and integrating the gifts
across the full continuum of our human consciousness.

Thus, we are bound to act, say, to roll the bowling
ball down the alley. We are bound to do this act
according to the best of our ability given the context
of "the game" or intention of "the act."

And yet, we know the incredible complexity of the
universe. There are many reasons that that ball
will do what it will do. Once we have acted, we
know that the outcome is in the hands of a "Greater
Energy"....and that energy travels through timber of
the wood, the wax on the alley, the temperature
of the ball, the precision of the pin-setter,
the humidity of the building, the sweat of our hands,
the health and pH of our cells, tissues, organs
and blood, the energy of those in the gallery,
perhaps the position of the moon...and the list
goes on far beyond our ability to calculate.

There is gathering "social" science to suggest that
the list may takes us back many lifetimes of "action"
and "intention" in an evolutionary unfolding.

The long and short is that we can hardly take credit
or blame for the number of pins that we will knock
down. That would be the height of ego or
self-absorption.

We do not reach for the fruit of our actions. And if
something that looks like fruit falls into our laps,
our conscience must also dictate how we will distribute
the results.

Thus, we must act, and we must with conscience.
That's the whole "thought-word-deed" admonition.

Our conscience is one of the solid connections
with Divinity.

It sure makes sense to me--at least on some days.

Support Your Alkaline Buffering System for True Immunity

Current medical science has this theory that the
white blood cells provide some sort of immunity
from sickness and dis-ease.

Based upon my observations, I would suggest that
this theory is not accurate. In my thirty years
of microbiology and watching white blood cells (WBC)
I have never seen a WBC attack anything.

In fact the white blood cells and especially the
neutrophils are like pool sweeps swimming around and
through the body fluids helping to pick up cellular
debris to maintain internal environmental purity and
cleanliness.

The true immune system providing true immunity from
states of over-acidity is the alkaline buffering
system. The alkaline buffering system manufactures
and secrets alkaline buffering agents to maintain
the delicate alkaline pH of the body fluids at 7.365.

True immunity from the alkaline buffering system is
what keeps us healthy and strong!

Do You Have GERD? Take The Test

More than 60 million Americans experience heartburn
at least once a month and some studies suggest more
than 15 million Americans experience heartburn symptoms
each day.

Are you one of them?

How severe is your heartburn?

What are the chances that it is something more
serious?

Here's a simple self-test developed by a panel of
experts from the American College of Gastroenterology.
Test yourself to see if you're a GERD sufferer and
are taking the right steps to treat it.

1. Do you frequently have one or more of the following:

a) An uncomfortable feeling behind the breastbone
that seems to be moving upward from the stomach?

b) An acid burning sensation in the back of
your throat?

c) A bitter acid taste in your mouth?

d) A saliva pH below 7.2.

2. Do you often experience these problems after meals?

3. Do you experience heartburn or acid indigestion
two or more times per week?

4. Do you find that antacids provide temporary relief
from your symptoms?

5. Are you taking prescription medication to treat
heartburn, but still having symptoms?

6. Do you eat dairy and/or meat every day?

7. Do drink coffee, tea, alcohol or soda pops?

If you said yes to two or more of the above questions,
you may be at risk for GERD. To know for sure, test your
morning urine pH. If your morning urine pH is below
5.5 pH you may be at risk for GERD.

According to Dr. Robert O. Young, the cause of GERD
is a result of an over-acidic lifestyle and diet.

The body is alkaline by design and acidic by function.

To maintain the alkaline design of the body the stomach
produces sodium bicarbonate to alkalize the food that we
eat and drink.

When we over-indulge in an acidic lifestyle and diet
this causes the stomach to work overtime to produce
the needed sodium bicarbonate for buffering the
increase in dietary acid.

The stomach will produce in the lining of the
stomach an equal amount of hydrochloric acid to
each molecule of sodium bicarbonate produced.

The sodium bicarbonate rises to meet the ingested
food and drink as the hydrochloric acid - a waste
product of sodium bicarbonate production falls into
the gastric pits of the stomach away from the food.

It is important to understand that in the ideal
situation the hydrochloric acid should never come in
contact with the food or drink. The ideal pH of the food
when it leaves the stomach into the small intestine
is 8.4 pH.

If the food and/or drink ingested is highly acidic
and/or comes in contact with the hydrochloric acid
and/or there is not enough sodium bicarbonate to
buffer the acids of the food and/or drink this can
create an over-acidic state in the stomach. When this
happens the stomach becomes too acidic or sour resulting
in the symptoms of acid reflux and/or heart burn.

If this over-acidic state is not corrected it can
lead to more serious symtomologies such as
ulcerations and degenerations of the stomach.

Dr. Young has stated, "the process of digestion
is not well understood by current medical savants.
The true purpose of the alimentary canal is to alkalize
the food and/or liquids that we ingest in preparation
for biological transformation into new blood in the
small intestine. The main organ for alkalizing the
food and liquids that we ingest is the stomach. The
stomach is an organ of contribution not digestion!"

Shelley's Recipe of the Week - Red Potato Salad

I hope you enjoy the recipe of the week
contributed by Lois Frederick.

Freddies Crunchy Red Potato Salad

5 or 6 small size new or red potatoes
1 stalk celery
1 carrot
1/2 English cucumber
1/2 green pepper
1/4" slice of sweet or red onion
1/2 avocado
The equivalent of 3 eggs made from tofu scrambler
4 or 5 broccoli flowerettes
1 broccoli stem (peel through outer skin away and
only use tender part)
1/2" slice of red cabbage

You can really add any other crunchy vegetables
you would like i.e. radishes, cauliflower

1/2 c. soaked sunflower seeds

Steam your potatoes. Slice or cube with the skins.
Add seasoning. I used dill weed, Redmond Real Salt,
pHlavor salt and Cajun seasoning and allow that to
penetrate into the warm potatoes. You can really use
a heavy hand so that all the potatoes are covered.
After the potatoes cool you can add all your chopped
ran vegetables and tofu eggs. All the vegetables
should be chopped to bite size. Mix together.

Dressing: Put juice of 1/2 large lemon, 4 T extra
virgin olive or avocado oil, 1 T Vegenaise
(a mayonnaise substitute found at the health store)

Pour over salad and toss gently. You don't want the
salad dripping in dressing, you just want enough to
moisten every piece. Tastes great right away or two
days later.

Serves 5 or 6

Dark Fruits and Veggies Combat a Cancerous Colon

Dark-colored vegetables and fruits may help defend
against a cancerous colon, new research shows.

Experiments on human cells that are cancerous and on
rats lead scientists to believe that anthocyanins, which
are the substances that give fruits and vegetables a
strong red, blue, or purple color, may slow cellular
fermentation or rotting from 50 to 80 percent.

"All fruits and vegetables that are rich in anthocyanins
have compounds that can slow down the growth of colon
cancer cells in experiments in laboratory dishes and
possibly inside the body," said Monica Giusti, lead
author of the new study and assistant professor of
food science at Ohio State University.

Which ones have the strongest effect?

Pigments from purple cabbage and blackcurrant not only
stopped cancerous growth, but in addition transformed
about 20 percent of the cancerous cells while leaving
healthy cells alone. When rats with a cancerous colon
were fed anthocyanin extracts from chokeberries and
bilberries, signs of tumors were reduced 60 to 70
percent.

While it's not going to hurt anyone to include dark
fruits and vegetables in their daily diet and will
probably help for a number of nutritional reasons,
Giusti emphasized that the new study is still
preliminary in regard to the chemical structure of
the 600 different anthocyanins found in nature.

"We're just beginning to scratch the surface of
understanding how the body absorbs and uses these
different structures," she said.

According to Dr. Robert O. Young, a research scientist

The Wooden Bowl

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year old grandson.

The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table.

But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. "We must do something about father," said the son. "I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor."

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since
Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl!

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometime he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, "What are you making?"

Just as sweetly, the boy responded, "Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up." The four-year-old smiled and went back to work .

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.

For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things: a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

I've learned that, regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.

I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life.."

I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back.

I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.

I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.

I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.

I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone.

People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.

I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.!

Flaxseed May Reduce Hot Flashes

Data from a new Mayo Clinic (http://mayoclinic.edu)
study suggest that dietary therapy using flaxseed can
decrease hot flashes in postmenopausal women who do
not take estrogen. The findings from the pilot study
are published in the summer 2007 issue of the Journal
of the Society for Integrative Oncology.

A hot flash is often described as a flush of intense
warmth across much of the body that may be accompanied
by sweating, reddening of the skin, or, occasionally,
cold shivers. Hot flashes occur in varying frequency
and duration, even during sleep, and often cause or
accompany sleep deprivation, anxiety and irritability.

“Hot flashes are a bothersome issue for women
experiencing menopause,” says Sandhya Pruthi, M.D.,

Mayo Clinic breast health (http://cancercenter.mayo.edu/) specialist and the study’s primary investigator. “We hope
to find more effective nonhormonal options to assist women,
and flaxseed looks promising.”

Although until recently hormone replacement therapy was
the most commonly prescribed treatment for hot flashes,
unwanted side effects have led to the search for
non-hormonal solutions. Several effective non-hormonal
drug therapies have been identified, but they are not
always effective, and not all women can use them because
of side effects. These limitations have led researchers
to explore non-drug agents.

They have studied a variety of herbal and dietary
supplements in randomized, placebo-controlled trials,
including vitamin E, black cohosh and soy, but none has
shown to produce any significant reduction in frequency
or severity of hot flashes.

The 29 participants in Mayo’s clinical trial were women
with bothersome hot flashes who did not want to take
acidic estrogen because of an increased risk
of cancerous breasts. They also had not received
(in the preceding four weeks) antineoplastic
chemotherapy, androgens, hormonal agents, or other
herbal supplements, including soy.

Some patients did not complete the trial, but full
data for six weeks of flaxseed therapy, consisting
of 40 grams of crushed flaxseed ingested daily,
was obtained from 21 of them.

Participants were asked questions that the researchers
translated into a hot flash score — a combined measure
of frequency and severity. The frequency of hot flashes
decreased 50 percent over six weeks, and the overall hot
flash score decreased an average 57 percent for the women
who completed the trial. Participants also reported
improvements in mood, joint or muscle pain, chills and
sweating; which significantly improved their
health-related quality of life.

“We are quite pleased with the improvements noted by
these women in their quality of life,” says Pruthi.

“Not only does flaxseed seem to alleviate hot flashes,
but it appears to have overall health and psychological
benefits as well.”

Pruthi’s team chose to research flaxseed because it
is a phytoestrogen (plant-based anti-estrogen source).
Flaxseed contains lignans and omega-3 fatty acids.
Lignans are antioxidants with weak anti-estrogen
emulating characteristics, and have some anti-cancer
effects. Flaxseed also appears to have anti-estrogen
properties and has been shown in some recent research
trials to decrease the risk of cancerous breasts.

The researchers hypothesized that patients taking
flaxseed might gain some relief for hot flashes.

This pilot trial was designed to determine the
effectiveness of flaxseed in alleviating hot flashes
and identify possible side effects. Pruthi cautions
that the results are preliminary and taking flaxseed
may not give relief to every woman suffering hot
flashes.

“While results were promising, we have more research
to conduct,” she says. “Oftentimes, pilot studies show
promising results that upon further study in a large,
randomized placebo-controlled study turn out to be
much less remarkable.”

Dr. Robert O. Young, a research microbiologist, states
that, "a hot flash is the body's mechanism to move
dietary and metabolic acids out through the spores of
the skin. The use of flaxseed/flaxseed oil, olive oil,
and avocado oil are excellent for buffering excess
dietary and metabolic acids, which are the cause of

will reduce hot flashes."

25 Things That Happen With Aging and What You Can Do About Them

The following is a selection, from a long list, of things that happen to us as we age. The good news is there are things we can do to slow down, and in some instances even stop or reverse, these particular aging processes.

1. Lean Muscle Mass decrease - accelerates after about age 40, averaging a loss of about 7 lbs. of lean muscle mass per decade.

Remedy: Do exercises to increase muscle mass, or to decrease the rate of loss. Take 1 teaspoon of glutathione 3 times a day, which will help to increase muscle mass. Eat more high chlorophyll foods to build blood which in turn builds muscle. Eliminate all animal protein and complex carbohydrate intake to reduce acidity that tenderizes and weakens muscle cells. Whole body or whole cell exercising with a rebounder and/or whole body vibrational machine will help to remove acids from the tissues and prevent and/or reverse tissue wasting. This process probably starts soon after birth. Lead will cause learning disabilities. Mercury accumulation causes both learning deficiencies and muscle pain. Both probably also contribute to unknown tissue damage, resulting in increases in other terrible diseases.

Remedy: Get an analysis done to determine what levels of toxic metals are in your body. Of course, if you smoke, quit smoking. 5. Basal Metabolism Rate decreases. The thyroid gland produces less hormone.

Remedy: As we age, the Thyroid Gland produces less Thyroid Hormone. You should elliminate all protein and complex carbohydrates from your diet; eat more alkaline electron rich, high water content and high chlorophyll content foods and drinks. 7. LDL Cholesterol, (Low Density Lipoprotein) increases when we are more acidic, and HDL Cholesterol (High Density Lipoprotein) decreases when we are eating acidic foods.

Remedy: There has been a lot of discussion recently about "good" cholesterol, and "bad" cholesterol. These are actually artificial distinctions which have no real correlation to what is actually going on in the body. For example, LDL (often called "bad" cholestorol) is actually good for buffering acids and HDL (often called "good" cholesterol) is good for driving nutrients and building cellular membranes. So both types of Cholesterol actually are "good" at correct levels.

To keep the types of Cholesterol in the correct proportions for optimum health, you should void animal protein, all sugar, and complex carbohydrate foods whenever you can. Take chromium, vanadium, Omega-3 from hemp seed, Omega-5 from pomegranate seed, amino acids such as glutathione, taurine, cysteine, carnitine. Eat alkaline, high chlorophyll fruits and vegetables with a high content of water and fiber. Never take injected growth hormone!

8. Bone Density decreases - Osteoporosis ("lost of bone minerals") increasingly becomes a problem after age 50 in both men and women.

10. Organs Shrink in size. The liver and brain and other vital organs shrink and become less effective because of dietary and metabolic acid. We lose up to 20% of the neurons in our brain, especially after age 45. Our liver also shrinks in size because of dietary and metabolic acid.

11. Reduced Brain function. This loss of brain function may be due to the loss of the neurons in the brain, due to reduced oxygen, or the increase in acid on our brain; from bad circulation, or from red blood cell deficiency, or, most probably, due to a combination of these factors. Improving any or all of them will decrease the loss of neurons.

Remedy: Nebulize 10 ml of glutathione 3 times a day. Glutathione will help to clean up lipofuscin, which contributes to the loss of brain cells. Hydration with green drinks will help to clean up the circulatory system. Lower cholesterol and triglicerides will help blood to flow better. 12. "Deep Sleep" deteriorates. Deterioration in Deep Sleep patterns begins as early as young adulthood (ages 16 to 25) and increases in mid-life (35-50). Although the total amount of sleep remains constant as young adults move into mid-life, the proportion of "slow wave" or "deep sleep" decreases from nearly 20% of a normal night's sleep for those under 25, to less than five percent for those over 35. 13. Degradation of nerve response and reactivity. The Vagus nerve (also called pneumogastric nerve or cranial nerve X), which runs from the base of the brain to the down below the head, to the neck, chest and abdomen, and deteriorates from acidic exposure to dietary and metabolic acids. The Vagus X nerve is the main neural component of the parasympathetic, autonomous, nervous system, which controls body functions not under our "conscious" control, such as Heart Rate. As we age, our "Resting Heart Rate" increases even in "fit" individuals.

Remedy: The acid sugar causes the most damage to the circulatory system. Learn which foods increase your blood glucose levels, and avoid those foods (potatoes, bread, sweets, fruits, rice, pasta, pizza, cookies, and cakes). Eliminate all animal proteins that will decrease uric, nitric, sulphuric and phosphoric acid.

14. Antioxidants decrease - Certain antioxidants decrease with age, such as super-oxidase dimutase. These antioxidants are important for buffering dietary acids, and as our first natural defense against fermentation or tissue degeneration from dietary and metabolic acids.

15. Lung Efficiency (ability of the lungs to take in oxygen) decreases.

Remedy: Do low impact aerobic exercises such as rebounding, walking, jogging, and whole body vibration. Clear the bowels of any undigested animal and dairy products. Drink 1 tablespoon of liquid chlorophyll every hour to help build the blood.

16. The amount of water in body tissues decreases... resulting in dry skin and increased wrinkles.

17. Body Fat Content - as a percentage of total body weight, fat increases from 25% to more than 40% as we age.

20. The Thymus Gland (located just under the mid-line of the collar bone) functions in aiding the immune system, and atrophies (shrinks) with age, largely due to increases in dietary and metabolic acids.

21. Lipofuscin builds up in the brain and dulls memory. Note: Lipofuscin is the name given to finely granular yellow brown pigment granules composed of lipid-containing residues of lysosomal digestion. It is considered one of the aging or "wear and tear" pigments; found in the liver, kidney, heart muscle, adrenals, nerve and ganglion cells. "Liver spots" commonly associated with aging are superficial dermal lipofuscin deposits.

22. Kidney efficiency decreases. Our kidneys filter and purifying the blood from dietary and metabolic acids. The kidneys also play a role in regulating blood pressure; monitoring the amount of oxygen in the blood, acting as our body's heat regulator, and producing EPO (Erythropoyetin) to control red blood cell production. As we age, kidney function decreases; red blood cell numbers decrease, and the blood can carry less oxygen.

Remedy: If the red blood cell count is lower than normal, the hematocrit (red blood cell count) can be raised by increasing the dietary intake of chlorophyll foods and drinks. Eliminate all meat in your diet. Drink 1 quart or 1 liter of alkaline green drink per day. Take 1 teaspoon of glutathione 3 times a day.

23. The circulatory system deteriorates. Babies and young people possess a "dew of youth" in their skin, a result of the of youthful cholesterol content of young skin. By the time we reach middle age, we begin to see cholesterol bound acid, arties and tissues begin to clog up with calcium bound acid, and veins and arteries that have lost flexibility. This causes blood to circulate more slowly, and so less oxygen gets to all parts of the body, including the skin and brain. Dietary and metabolic acid are the root cause of loss of skin tone, skin glow, elasticity, deteriorated brain cells, and organ and gland atrophy.

Remedy: Avoid as much sugar and carbohydrates and protein in your diet, as possible. Glutathione, cysteine, and taurine will help prevent free radical damage, which causes some of the problem. Omega-3, 5, 6 and 9 oil will help lower acidity, increasing the level of healthy red blood cells that will help repair the walls of the circulatory system, and bowel detoxification, oral alkaline chelation will might help to cleanse out micro-calcifications and some metals, thus improving circulation. 24. The Body becomes less sensitive to insulin (Insulin insensitivity).

Remedy: Avoid all sugars (substitute natural sugars like honey or stevia) and complex carbohydrates in your diet, increase healthy fats in your diet from avocado, olive, hemp, pumpkin, sesame, etc., and eliminate all protein in your diet. If you are overweight, try to lose weight through the pH Miracle alkaline diet and low impact and static attraction exercise. Do exercises to increase muscle mass and eliminate acids, which will help to lower high insulin levels. As you eliminate acidity and clear the bowels of undigested protein and carbohydrate, this will reverse your sensitivity to insulin. 25. Certain acidic hormones such as Cortisol increase with age. Cortisol is produced by the Adrenal Cortex in response to stress. Cortisol is catabolic (destroys or ferments muscle tissue). Cortisol is also known as "the Death hormone", under the theory that the human body will spontaneously end its own life at a certain age.

Remedy: Avoid anger and stress, and very strenuous exercise which will make the body produce cortisol. Take 1 teaspoon of glutathione 3 times a day, which helps you to remain optimistic and to resist stress. Link Found Between Depression, Mold and Dis-Ease

A groundbreaking public health study has found
a connection between damp, moldy homes and depression.

The study, led by Brown University epidemiologist
Edmond Shenassa, is the largest investigation of an
association between mold and mood and is the first
such investigation conducted outside the
United Kingdom.

Shenassa said the findings, published in the American
Journal of Public Health, came as a complete surprise.
In fact, after a few U.K. studies published in the
last decade had suggested a link, Shenassa and his
skeptical team set out to debunk the notion that
any link existed.

"We thought that once we statistically accounted for
factors that could clearly contribute to depression --
things like employment status and crowding -- we would
see any link vanish," said Shenassa, the lead author
of the study and an associate professor in the
Department of Community Health at Brown.

"But the opposite was true. We found a solid association
between depression and living in a damp, moldy home."

Shenassa noted the study, an analysis of data from
nearly 6,000 European adults, does not prove that
moldy homes cause depression. The study wasn't designed
to draw that direct conclusion. However, Shenassa's
team did find a connection, one likely driven by two
factors. One factor is a perceived lack of control
over the housing environment. The other is mold-related
health problems such as wheezing, fatigue, and a cold
or throat imbalance.

"Physical health, and perceptions of control, are linked
with an elevated risk for depression," Shenassa said,
"and that makes sense. If you are sick from mold, and
feel you can't get rid of it, it may affect your mental
health."

The study was a statistical analysis of data from the
Large Analysis and Review of European Housing and Health
Status (LARES), a survey on housing, health, and place
of residence conducted in 2002 and 2003 by the World
Health Organization (WHO). To conduct the survey,
WHO interviewers visited thousands of homes in eight
European cities and asked residents a series of
questions, including if they had depressive symptoms
such as decreased appetite, low self-esteem, and
sleep disturbances. WHO interviewers also made visual
checks of each household, looking for spots on walls
and ceilings that indicate mold.

Shenassa's team analyzed LARES data from 5,882 adults
in 2,982 households.

"What the study makes clear is the importance of
housing as indicator of health, including mental
health," Shenassa said. "Healthy homes can promote
healthy lives."

Shenassa and his team are conducting follow-up research
to see if mold does, indeed, directly cause depression.
Shenassa said that given the results of the current
study, he wouldn't be surprised if there is a
cause-and-effect association.

Molds emit mycotoxins or acids, and some research has
indicated that these aicid mold toxins can affect the
nervous system or the immune system or impede the
function of the frontal cortex, the part of the brain
that plays a part in impulse control, memory, problem
solving, sexual behavior, socialization, and
spontaneity.

According to Dr. Robert O. Young, a research
microbiologist, "yeast and molds are the evidence of
rotting or putrefying matter. The result of rotting
or putrefying matter are the acidic wastes products of
exotoxins and mycotoxins, that can lead to all sickness
and dis-ease."

No More Chronic Hives - A Personal Testimony

The following is a personal testimony of Fran
who over-came chronic hives by following the
pH Miracle Living Lifestyle and Dietary Plan.

Dear Dr. Young,

Please excuse my interruption in your day but I
must tell you my story how the pH Miracle saved me.

I'm 42 years young today and at the age of 20 I
started breaking out in head to toe chronic hives.
I just had a baby and was given antibiotics, plus
I was catherized several times which I believe
introduced bacteria (acidity) into my body.

I suffered for many long years with no help.

I took Seldane like candy. I'm sure I mixed it
with erthromycin and grapefruit juice. I'm grateful
that I'm not dead. I managed to go into some sort
of remission after practically starving myself to
death.

Everyone kept telling me that it was my nerves. I
always felt like it was something inside my body
not my mind. I desperately began seeking information
and learning as much as possible about allergies
and nutrition.

I had two more bouts with the chronic hives and the
3rd time I discovered the miracle, the pH Miracle.

I went to a naturopathic doctor and through testing
they found that I was very high in citrobacter braakii,
and enterobacter cloacae with off the chart numbers.
I was also very low in good bacteria. My doctors
approach was to kill the bad bacteria using herbs like
Oregano.

I stayed patient, nothing happened. I cleansed, I
detoxed, I did a rotation diet to determine if I
had food allergies. Still nothing happened.

I was skinny, weak, and covered in head to toe hives
with my lips swelling, my eyes swelling. I was one
huge miserable mess.

My sister then gave me the book, The pH Miracle.
I gobbled the information down and immediately began
following the plan. I dedicated myself to a 100%
alkalized diet. I did not know if I would survive
without meat but I did! I felt stronger each day,
my skin became softer, my color came back, my mind
became clear, and the hives disappeared.

I was healed!

Not only did I go 100% alkaline but I replaced all
my good bacteria with a good quality probiotic.
That was the magic that restored my health.

Now, I finally know the answer to why I used to break
out in hives, which I have a long history of since
infancy. My dis-ease caused me to be extremely
chemical sensitive but now that my health is restored

HIV/AIDS A Thing of the Past!

As many of you already know, the pH Miracle Program

Back a week or so ago, I wrote a letter to this team
exclaiming that not only was the HIV test a bunch of
baloney, a fact which we all knew anyway, but I also
exclaimed that there is now a cure for AIDS and every
other disease known to man, a fact of which I do not
believe many are aware.

I didn't get much response, so I assume there was a
lot of snickering and head-scratching out there in
cyberspace, and I was more convinced than ever that
this is totally new information.

However, one bold fellow whom I have never met, Joe,
was kind enough to respond to me. He basically said,
as nicely as possible, that I was, perhaps, in so many
words, off my rocker. He said that he would need
verification, despite my effort to point the group
in the direction of information which would begin
the path towards verification. I pointed out the

These are articles to help one begin to get up to speed
in the New Biology of Dr. Robert O. Young, among the
very top live and dry blood microscopist on the planet,
a cellular biologist, a nutritionist, and a man who
everyone should know about--even if just to argue
with him.

So, I assume that Joe was not only very busy but
probably not very much convinced about much of
anything that I said, despite the fact that he was
kind enough to write the "rebuttal" letter posted
below.

Anyway, in my book, Joe was chalked up as a gentleman
and a good guy. He even later wrote to me privately
so as not to embarrass me. Now that is a REAL
gentleman. I was happy for him to take off the gloves
in private as he quickly explained that my purposely
general comments about Lipitor were "complete and
utter (expletive deleted.) I liked that. Now that's
a man with whom I can communicate! And above all,
I did appreciate his keeping the ball in the air.

Joe also said that my interpretation about Lipitor was
wrong because "It had nothing to do with acid-alkaline
balance" and that I had not done the research on what
the drug does."

Well, as a matter of fact, Joe was right. I have NOT
done any research on Lipitor. Nor have I done any
research on any other drugs. After years of watching
what drugs do, I am trying to forget how to spell drugs.

My new effort is to learn how to spell kohlrabi,
cabbage, rutabaga, cauliflower, and avocado. And I
encourage ALL OF YOU to stop doing any research on
drugs and start doing research on the cure for all
disease and most dis-ease.

For those of you who have followed the thread, I will
respond to Joe's comments below. I apologize for the
long week delay, but I have been in Sacramento trying
to get the ear of the governor of Kaly-fornia, the
Lieutenant Governor, the Secretary of Health & Human
Services, the AARP California chapter, and the publisher
of a Sacramento newspaper. It is the Governor of every
state in the union who will soon not be able to balance
their budgets because of the uninsured and
unprepared baby-boomers that will bankrupt many states
over the coming decades. It is THOSE governors who
should be interested in a "cure for ALL disease"-­no
matter what blather is espoused at the federal level
by the powerful FDA, AMA, FTC, ACS and all those who
take their marching orders, in one way or another,
from the pharmaceutical industry and the
head-in-the-sand, Pasteur-loving, western,
allopathic scientific medical community.

To save you the trouble of looking up my original
letter, here is what I said. I'll place it in italics
if your computer will cooperate so you can skip it
if you remember what I said or if you simply want to
go right down below to read Joe's comments.

My letter read:

Friends of Christine,

On a couple of scores, it is somewhat amazing to me,
while reading the intelligent email thread below,
that despite the insights shared as to the nature of
the HIV/AIDS phenomenon, there is still so much
confusion, unclarity, and lack of up-to-date awareness
of the advancement of health science.

I have not been a part of the "AIDS" discussions over
the years until I recently had reason to talk with
Christine.

I have news for everyone. There does not have to be
further pain and anguish because the answers to the
"AIDS" phenomenon is published and is well within
the public domain. You no longer need to be held
captive by the grasping pharmaceutical industry and
their morally bankrupt remedies.

The TRUTH is out there in the universe. One can
find it in several places....and it needs to be
inside the conscious awareness of all of us.

I started out by saying "couple of scores." But I
only have time to discuss one of them right now.
Later, I may write about the relatively new Truth
Technology or Truth Science as I see this information
applying to the discussions about "AIDS." There is
now a way to tell the truth or untruth of anything--
any diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, options­ anything
that has a trace of energy in the universe.

The other thing that more or less surprised me is
that some or many or maybe even most of those involved
in this important HIV/AIDS effort appear not to know
that the "AIDS" death sentence is over. I shudder
when I hear us still discuss the "death march" and
so on.

At least it is over for those who understand what I
am saying and are willing to incorporate New Biology
into their lives and their life-style. And it is up
to those of us who DO KNOW that our anguish is over
to point this out to the others.

I do not have "AIDS." I don't even think that I know
of anyone right now who has been diagnosed with "AIDS."
But I have information that is important, and I believe
it is my responsibility to share this information-
especially given my surprise at some of the recent
posts on this topic.

When you read the trail of 150 years of science as
first espoused by Dr. Antoine Bechamp, a scientist
who disagreed with Louis Pasteur and his germ theory,
you will quickly understand that ALLLLLLLLLL allopathic
medicine rests on an incorrect theory.

The body is NOT designed to function on highly acidic
fuel. And yet, our "entire world" feeds us acid--and
lots of it. And this same "acidic ingestion phenomenon"
also feeds the HIV/AIDS phenomenon with acid.....just
as it feeds all disease and most dis-ease.

"AIDS" is undoubtedly many hundreds of different
"disease entities." No two cases of AIDS seem to be
exactly the same thing. There are hundreds of gross
differences as well as subtle nuances of symptoms,
symptom-clusters, and variations on the progression
of the problem. Aids has so many different looks
that it is easy to make the case that there is no
such thing as AIDS simply because it is so poorly
conceptualized, understood, diagnosed, and treated
by western science.

So it is not just the HIV test that is abominable.
The entire "AIDS" concept from start to finish is
one continuous scam brought about by varying levels
of scientific error, educational lockstep, clinical
incompetence, research myopia, journalistic group-think,
medical ego mania, turf wars, power-struggles,
good-ole-boy alliances, pure and unadulterated corporate
greed, and all of it bound up in a capitalistic society
anchored within a moral continuum involving non-existent
to insufficient integrity.

It is now clear to those who have bothered to look.
Our bodies are alkaline by the design of creation....
by the design of Our Creator..... by the design of
Mother Nature....by the design of Divine Providence.
You choose the world that fits your understanding of
creation.

Our bodies are NOT designed to run on acid fuel. Recall
your chemistry....acid is pH 0 - 7 and alkalinity or base
is pH 7 - 14.

You body ABSOLUTELY REQUIRES a primarily alkaline
fuel input. But ALL those suffering from AIDS (and
every other disease known to man) feed their sensitive
bodies with the wrong fuel. Instead of an alkaline
diet, we feed it acid. Meat is acid. Cigarettes
are acid. Sugar is acid. So are oranges, apples,
eggs, most grains, all beer and alcohol, most fruit,
vinegar and salad dressings containing vinegar,
most desserts, soda pop, and on and on and on.

The entire breakfast bar I just visited at a very nice
hotel (and it would be any and all hotels) was almost
totally acidic....sweet rolls, coffee, tea, sugar,
fake sweeteners, waffles, maple syrup, fruit cocktail
in heavy syrup, strawberry topping, reconstituted eggs,
bacon, sausage links, white toast, muffins, raisin
brain cereal....and so on. Granted, a healthy person
who needs 20% acid in their diet could have had raisin
bran and milk. That's what I ate. Milk is only
slightly acidic, although it has other downsides.
I could have had strawberries as they are only
slightly acidic, but these were in a heavy sugary
sauce-quite acidic.

Nonetheless, a healthy person need not give up all
acidic food. Thus, I went back to my suite and ate
the slightly alkaline cantaloupe, some almonds, and
a greenish-yellow banana. In three days, however,
that same banana will become acidic as it ripens.

Tomorrow, I won't even go to the breakfast bar. I'll
just cook some quinoa and top it off with little
tomatoes, avocado chunks and pHlavor Salts.

A person with "AIDS" should give up all acidic food
until the many, many symptoms of "AIDS" have disappeared.
One cannot destroy what we call AIDS or any other
disease....on an ACID diet.

Other things, besides food, also create acid. A toxic
pillow with toxic material from the Monsantos of the
world can hurt you. Thus for about 1/3 of your life,
your eyes, ears, nose and mouth conduct some sort of
unconscious love affair with these pillows....pillows
stuffed with God-only-knows-what inside of them.....!!!

Also, one of the greatest creators of acid is STRESS....
fear, anger, worry, frustration, sadness, alienation,
guilt...and so on.

The solution to these health problems starts with
an understanding of New Biology which demonstrates
that the body is ALKALINE by DESIGN and ACIDIC by
FUNCTION.

How do we know the body is ALKALINE by design?


We know because we are born with a slightly alkaline
blood of pH 7.365. If the blood goes even a few points
in either direction, you are very sick. Worse, you are
dead or near dying if your blood drops as low as a
neutral pH of 7.0. Yet, all the foods that I mentioned
earlier are acidic....or below pH 7.0. It's like your
body temperature. The pH can't vary much without chaos
to your body.

Even the water that most of us drink is 7.0 (neutral)
or below. Municipal water systems are atrocious.
So, if we drink a gallon of water every day like good
little boys and girls.....are we helping ourselves?
No, because the water should be at least at the level
of the blood or higher. Below that, we have only managed
to create more work for our body to try and maintain
a blood of pH 7.365.

What does it mean when I say that the body is acidic by
function? It means that everything we do---walk, talk,
work, play, think, breath, sleep, dream, and write
emails-everything we do burns energy and leaves an acidic
residue

Everything we do creates acid.

So if just everyday living creates acid, and if we also
eat 95% acidic food from America's grocery stores, if
we breath acidic air, if we wear acidic synthetic fabrics,
if we curl up under a 45% acidic polyester blanket, and
if we also live in our automobile filled with acidic
synthetic materials oozing molecules into our air space...
what magic of the body could possibly maintain our blood
at its required level of pH 7.365?

Well, it really can't. The body can not easily do
that, especially over time. But it certainly tries.
And just as the Energizer bunny eventually stops
functioning properly, so does our bodily system get
bogged down and depleted.

Make no mistake. The body is reasonably self-correcting.
The human body is sufficiently brilliant, ingenious,
and adaptive---not to mention sacred---that it can
manage to keep us around for a period (it can continue
to house our spirit) while we inadvertently work at
poisoning ourselves...and our blood.

How does the body compensate or adapt itself in service
of the blood....you might ask?

Many ways. The body leeches important base minerals...
alkaline minerals....from the bones, for instance.
It needs the alkalinity that we are not giving it,
and so it steals it from our own bones, tissues,
ligaments, cartilage, and so on.

Meanwhile, the body stores the acid to keep it away
from the blood. For instance, it stores the acid in fat.
The body creates acid-fat. Ten pounds. A hundred pounds.
Fat is acid shielded from the rest of the body...and
specifically shielded from the blood.

To protect us, the body also creates acidic tumors,
cysts, polyps, bumps and masses, caked intestines with
many, many pounds of gunk for which I have no name.
Some corpses of U.S. citizens, at autopsy, have had
as much as 40 pounds of ACIDIC gunk found stored in
their gastrointestinal system....all because of the
body's desperate effort to cope with the ONSLAUGHT of
our acidic lifestyle and keep it from the tissues and
blood.

I will quote here one of my favorite passages from
The pH Miracle by Dr. Robert O. Young and Shelley
Redford Young. It can be found on page 13, and for
me, it pretty much summarizes what I am saying:

" We're starting from the premise that of all the
balances the human body strives to maintain, the most
crucial is the one between acid and base (alkaline).
The body will go to great lengths to maintain the
appropriate, slightly basic, nature of its blood.
But it is all too easy and far too common for body
tissues to become acidic. Such an imbalance sets
the stage for chaos, opening the door to sickness
and disease. Overacidification of body fluids and
tissues underlies all disease, and general "dis-ease"
as well. For one thing, it is only when it is acidic
that the body is vulnerable to germs--in healthy base
balance, germs can't get a foothold. Furthermore,
acids are the expression of all sickness and disease.
In short, good health requires a body in proper
acid/base balance. Proper diet (like the one laid
out in this book) is the only way to ensure that."

For instance, in reading the recent emails,
when Joe says:

"the earth is a toxic wasteland,".... I translate that
in my head to "the earth is a toxic wasteland of
ACIDIC material."

"We use alcohol and drugs to numb our emotional pain,"....
to me means "we use ACIDIC alcohol and ACIDIC drugs to
numb...."

"We lack enough omega-3 fatty acids"...translates to
me as we lack the alkaline from appropriate fats to
keep our brain functioning...."

"Worst of all, we take toxic pharmaceutical
"medications" ......says to me "we take acidic
'medications'."

"...essential metabolic processes...." to me means
a pH acid/alkaline balanced metabolism..."

" Lipitor....causes neuromuscular destruction"
means that "Lipitor, a highly acidic and synthetic
material, eventually causes an acidic build-up in
the neuromuscular area of the body that brings
about its destruction...." and so on.

In other words, New Biology has isolated the common
denominator in ALL disease processes. That common
denominator is the acid-alkaline balance. Thus,
there is ONLY ONE DISEASE and you may simply call
it acidosis. There is only one CURE and it is
called ALKALINIZATION or acid-alkaline balancing.

THUS, AIDS IS A THING OF THE PAST----although it is
up to you.

I would like nothing more than for one or more
wealthy individuals fighting against AIDS to step
forward with the funds to conduct the large scale
study that will stun the allopathic medical community.
I know enough establishment doctors (MDs) who are
sufficiently disillusioned with western medicine,
at medical schools like Harvard, who would help us
set up the research structure.

MONEY IS THE ONLY OBSTACLE. I would like to see
100 people suffering from AIDS, randomly chosen
from a large population, go on a 100% alkaline
diet. Matched against them would be 100 AIDS
victims with their normal dietary regimen.

The results would set the medical world on its
ear!

Next, we would do the same thing with, for instance,
Parkinsons. Then breast cancer. Then liver cancer.
Then Alzheimers. Then arthritis. You get the
picture. The health system worldwide would be
revolutionized throughout the world in little more
than a decade.

All of the early research could be accomplished in
just a few years. Meanwhile, you and I can alkalize
our system in a few weeks or months. And if you have
AIDS, you will begin recovering very quickly.

One of the reasons that the research could be done
so quickly is that balancing ones acid/alkaline
system WORKS SO QUICKLY that symptoms are often gone
in weeks or just a few months.

So that was my letter. I wasn't trying to pick on
Joe by using his examples. I had chosen them at
random from the thread of this topic so I could
explain how as I read I constantly "translate" in
my head western scientific verbiage and thought
processes. I do this so I can maintain my sanity
and not tear up allopathic books and journal
articles.

Below was Joe's kind and timely response to my
somewhat lengthy dissertation. I will interleave
my comments taken from the New Biology of
Dr. Robert O. Young as regards acid-alkaline
balancing to achieve optimal health. I will
also italicize my comments so your eye can quickly
pick out the transition from Joe's words to my
comments.

First, Christine has asked us to limit the thread

Second, I think we'll need a bit more verification
of the line of reasoning that all people need to do
is to change their diet and then everything will be
fine. I'd like to know, for instance, how animals
in the wild (mammals and reptiles), who rarely get
ill, survive so well despite the fact that they eat
very acidic foods that are similar to those that
we eat (although I must admit they don't cook their
meats and vegetables).

Many such animals migrate to clay lakes and eat
their fill in order to buffer the acids from the
foods they eat. In fact, they risk their lives to
eat clay! There exists a great documentary from
BBC on the animals of the Amazon. They all eat
a smectite clay on a daily basis to buffer acids.

And how are there people in the world (I'm a prime
candidate) who eat many of those terribly acidic
things and rarely, if ever, get ill?

Joe, you are apparently a fellow with very strong
and healthy blood. Maybe you are blessed with good
genes and heritage to boot. Yet, "strong blood"
does not mean that your are healthy. How many
times do we hear of the guy in perfect shape,
out running his daily 5 miles, who drops dead of
a heart attack. No symptoms. No evidence.
Picture of health. Nothing had been picked up
by his doctor, etc. etc. Yet, a live blood
examination or a dried blood examination will show
us the evidence of our poor dietary and lifestyle
choices. It is those poor and misguided dietary
choices that are, perhaps, Joe, hidden away quietly
in your body. I have personally seen many people
with no apparent symptoms do a live blood analysis
and be "blown away" by evidence of serious health
challenges which had not yet manifested outward
symptoms and which had not been identified by
examinations performed by western science.
The simple fact is that nobody gets away with
eating acid for long. It's just a matter of time
for all of us.

The centenarians of Okinawa eat terribly acid foods,
and live very long, healthy lives. I have been ill
just once in the last 10 years, and it was because
I was in a situation where I was vitamin C deficient
and let myself get physically run down
(sleep deprivation).

Quantity of life is not the same as quality of life.
In our country, most people in the 60's are on one
or more drugs. By 70, two or three drugs, by 80,
4-5 drugs. My wonderful aunt at 93 is on 11 drugs.

Holy cow!

She's alive, but she often feels miserable.
The Okinawan's live long, but they are not necessarily
all that healthy. If they would eat a more alkaline
diet, who knows? Maybe they would live to 200
years old.

All mammals and reptiles except for humans, primates,
guinea pigs, the red bat, and a couple of other small
animals, produce prodigious amounts of ascorbate
(a mildly acidic substance, I might add) in their
livers or kidneys, at a rate thousands of times as
much as most humans ingest. This relative ascorbate
deficiency is, in turn, the primary cause of
cardiovascular disease (see references below). It
is the belief of many naturopaths that it is
antioxidant (aka ascorbate) status that is the main
determinant of health, not acidity or alkalinity.

Furthermore, stomach acid and bile - dumped into our
duodenum by the bile duct - are horrifically acidic,
and must be in order for proper digestion to take place.

Because of fermentation, we have lots of ascorbate in
our system. Also, an equal amount of bicarbonate is
created in the stomach, pylorus glands, bile, the
pancreas, and the intestines to alkalize the food in
preparation for biological transformation into new
blood in the small intestine. The required pH for
making healthy new blood out of the food we eat is
8.4.

I would like to see some definitive research that
shows the health/illness history of people who follow
your "alkaline" regimen, how many of them succumb to
the ordinary diseases of humankind (colds, "flu",
cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, etc.)
when compared, for instance, to people who consume
an ordinary human diet along with high levels of
antioxidant supplements (vitamin C, grapeseed extract,
quercetin, etc.) to compensate for the fact that
their livers cannot synthesize ascorbate.

Well, they don't get anything but longer years of
health and vitality. And as you suggest, so would
I like to see that "definitive research." That's
what I proposed in my letter. Dr. Young has reported
in his many books the hundreds of case studies and
thousands of testimonials over the years. He has
also conducted some small scale studies. BUT WHO
IN THE WORLD IS GOING TO PUBLISH THIS INFORMATION?

Does anyone think for one minute that the $400 billion
cancer industry, four times larger than the automobile
industry, is going to try and discover if organic and
alkaline vegetables might soon replace 25,000
oncologists, hundreds of hospitals, thousands of
clinics, and decimate the entire pharmaceutical
industry?

The pH Miracle Plan has worked for well over 100,000
folks in 72 countries around the world. This week,
please watch the documentary this Wednesday about
"Crazy Sexy Cancer" on the The Learning Channel
on Wednesday evening, August 29th. I think it is
early on the west coast. Dr. Young appears in that
fascinating documentary. It tells the story of
how a woman with cancer survives. Dr. Young
will also be featured in a major documentary
by a well-known, Academy Award winning producer,
which will compare the different anti-aging
lifestyles and diets which will includes the
pH Miracle Plan.

comment is posted below his addendum.

Addendum: I meant to add that rate of ascorbate
production in animals is hundreds of times that
of typical human ingestion of this nutrient in the
industrialized countries, not thousands. Typical
human ingestion is 30-60 mg per day in the US,
and typical production of ascorbate in animals
is 3000-14000 mg per day when scaled to adult
human body weight. Ascorbate ingestion in the
developing countries can be as low as just a few
milligrams per day. This is the cause of Sudden
Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and astronomical
rates of infant death (as high as 50% in some
regions of Africa). See Kalokerinos,

I have several thoughts. First, ascorbate is a waste
product of the degeneration of matter. Ascorbate is
what happens when human cells ferment. We have lots
of ascorbate in our system. SIDS and those astronomical
death rates are caused by way too much acid from the
wrong diet, the wrong breast milk, the wrong baby
formula, the wrong water, and an entirely wrong
nutritional and dietary regimen. Almost all the stuff
we ship over to developing countries amounts to garbage.
Plenty of it comes from our foreign "aid" and the
"good will" of many world foundations. Almost all
of it comes from a food industry which feeds us lousy
food which is 95% acidic. What we should be sending
third world impoverished countries are ways to alkalize
and ionize their water systems, organic vegetables
flash frozen, and supplements which will help them
conform to the alkaline design of their body.

Lastly friends, I have a sobering and telling comment
or two to make. Over the years, Dr. Young has had
plenty of well known M.D. medical scientists who
have privately vouched for his science. And yet
their medical hospitals, medical schools and
research laboratories are not about to test the
theories of a man whom they think must be a
fruit-cake because he doesn't believe in Louis
Pasteur's germ theory. We have a multiple trillion
dollar medical industry set up based on the germ theory.
Can we blame those M.D.s because they did not want to
risk their jobs, grant funds, and reputations to "go
to the mat" to fight for Dr. Young's research funding?
I don't think so.

Imagine if I came up with a few drops of formula that
we could add to water to make our automobiles run on
my solution. And we could sell it almost as cheaply
as water. Would my life be safe? How long would I
live? I don't know. I do know that such an energy
product would be considered disruptive technology.

Dr. Young's science is also disruptive technology,
and it is here now. It will seriously disrupt
economic stability for awhile.

Further, a few years back, Dr. Young did have a well
known western medical establishment that agreed to
test the pH Miracle dietary Plan on AIDS patients.
However, when they contacted the AIDS patient-candidates
for the research, they could not find any patients who
were willing to go off their medication to try for a
cure. I assume that among other things, a good deal of
fear was operating.

There are many social, psychological, cultural and
economic secondary gains for many of the problems
and illnesses that are present in our society. I am
working on ways to identify the funds and the
locations to conduct the randomized, large scale,
double-blind, placebo-controlled, studies that are
needed to convince the western scientific community
that they have gone down the wrong path.

contacts or can open doors to help us create a
venue for appropriate research into New Biology,
